Tamryn

Tamryn is the kind of guy who’s beloved by almost everyone he meets. His big smile and cheerful attitude has endeared him to the hearts of many. Tamryn genuinely likes people, too. He enjoys getting to know people and having friendships. Plus, it feels so extremely fulfilling to have so many people he can talk to and enjoy being around.

Of course, Tamryn has very solid opinions of the people he knows. If he likes you, it takes a lot to change his mind. If he doesn’t like you, however, then there’s very little you can do to change his mind. There is one person on record that he’s changed his mind on completely, and that’s his wife Jemimah.

People like to come to Tamryn for advice. He understands a lot about the way people and the world work, and is able to give out pretty good words of wisdom. The best part is that he only gives it when asked - he knows how it feels to be given unwanted advice that does more harm than good. He has a lot of experience, so people are comfortable speaking to him about a wide variety of things.

Tamryn is a very tough person. He doesn’t get intimidated easily and is very firm on his stances. Plus, he doesn’t scare easily. He has a good, calm head on his shoulders that has gotten him through many times of trouble. He’s also incredibly reliable, and always makes good on his promises.

Of course, Tamryn has his pleasures in life. He’s here to have a good time, thank you very much! Sure, he’s smart enough not to get into trouble. Once he’s reasonably certain of the risks in something though, he is down to do a whole bunch of crazy stuff. It’s really fun, and he loves the thrill of it all.

Tamryn started his life in the shrine realm with two loving dads who were happy to support him in all of his endeavors, provided that he wasn’t hurting other people of course. He was taught the customs of his forebears, which he accepted and loved.

Much of his young adulthood was spent living at the shrines, getting to know people and having adventures. There were even times where he was tempted to join up with the Cult of the Exiled One. However, he never actually went ahead and did it, knowing that he was too good of a person to truly engage with the cult.

Unfortunately, the cult recruiters were stubborn and murderous. It got to the point where Tamryn was forced to leave the shrine so that the recruiters wouldn’t hurt him or anyone close to him. Somehow, Tamryn ended up in the Golden Isles with nothing to his name.

Thankfully, the government was decent enough to give him something to get up on his feet. Tamryn started making friends and settling down. However, he was disappointed by the nightlife. Sure, it existed. It just wasn’t… enough?

So, Tamryn opened up his own nightclub, Club Paradise. It was meant to be a thriving nightclub where people could make friends and have fun. And it was! However, just down the street another nightclub called Glowstick opened, taking away some of the people who would’ve been active clients of Club Paradise. Tamryn, understandable, was upset.

Thus began the rivalry to last for decades. Seriously, Club Paradise and Glowstick kept hosting events and other such things to try and get more people there than the other. The rivalry was great for attracting people to the clubs though. The public even began taking sides.

Tamryn developed a rather intense dislike of Glowstick’s owner, Jemimah. Not hatred - Tamryn doesn’t hate people. Rather, he was not very fond of how she kept one upping him. He’d never admit it to anyone, but it rather hurt his pride.

This dislike would’ve likely continued and spiralled into something maddening if Tamryn and Jemimah’s mutual friend Juliette didn’t sit them both down and force them to talk to each other for once in their lives. After a few sessions of this, Tamryn and Jemimah realized that they actually had a lot in common and started a tentative friendship.

The rivalry lasted a bit longer for PR purposes, but after a few years Tamryn and Jemimah broke it off. After all, instead of finding excuses to avoid each other, they kept finding excuses to interact. And interact some more. And then hang out. And then go on a date - wait what?

As it turned out, it was easy to turn a burning dislike of someone into utter adoration. Just take the same passion and reverse the polarity. Plus, Jemimah was incredibly attractive. The two ended up going on many dates before eventually getting married and having their little baby girl Fiona. Glowstick and Club Paradise became partner clubs instead of rivals.
