Description

• Cherry is a cheerful, silly, and caring kind of gal who simply loves to make people smile. She's highly charismatic and very energetic, which can most prominently be seen in her love for all things cute. Though she may seem a tad ditzy, she's very attentive, especially to people's emotions.

• Even without her flair, Cherry is notably strong and sports a somewhat sturdy build underneath her soft outer layer, which becomes more apparent right after she burns a large quantity of her fat reserves.

• Cherry inherited her flair from her mother, but her version's potential far exceeds that of her mother's version. Upon passing along a flair to one's offspring, the flair's limit for potential (being the biological limit of how effectively one can use their flair) is seemingly decided at random by some unknown genetic process, as well as which of the parent's flairs is passed along to the offspring or if the rarer fusion mutation occurs.

• She's a bit of a movie buff and a connoisseur of the horror and action genres. In her spare time, she loves to watch the older classics with her family and Celeste, both the good to appreciate and the bad to get a good laugh out of.

• She works as a waitress at a beachside restaurant. Although it's certainly only a temporary job to work up some money, she does enjoy entertaining her customers with her small talk and bar tricks (even if the customers are more entertained by a certain something else about her).

Background:

At the age of 8, Cherry had an unfortunate altercation with one of her classmates that would ultimately trigger a lifelong trauma in herself. The classmate in question had a tendency to pick on Celeste for isolating herself during recess and lunch, to which Cherry would normally fly to her aid and stand up for her. But on one occasion, the classmate became more bold and physical with his bullying, and broke Celeste's glasses while frightening her with his newly manifested flair. This ended up pushing Cherry over the edge and she ran in to shove the bully back in retaliation. In that moment of tension, Cherry's flair began to manifest itself, and she shoved the bully exceedingly hard. The force of the push and the resulting tumble fractured his knee and both of his hands, which took the bully by surprise and sent him into hysterics. Cherry was horrified at what she had done and ran over to beg for his forgiveness. But the bully stumbled away to escape, shouting for help and calling Cherry a monster as the other surrounding children of her class scattered and bolted away out of fear.

It was this action that ironically turned all of her peers against her, but finally got Celeste to open up to Cherry and see her as someone who genuinely cared for her. Besides Cherry's own parents, Celeste was the only moral support there for her during that time, just as Cherry had been for Celeste. For the remainder of that entire school year, with a little motivation from her newfound best friend, Cherry decided to stand atop the playground's jungle gym during every recess, watching everyone play among the yard, and would look for any opportunity to run over and help anyone in any possible way. She was determined to earn back her classmate's trust and prove to everyone that she was no monster, even if it meant devoting all of her free time to helping others out. Eventually, her hard work and dedication paid off, and Cherry was no longer branded as a monster among her class, but rather as a caring hero, just like the ones she watched on TV. She even finally managed to earn the bully's acceptance of her apology by helping out with his classwork every day while his hands healed. Though she had proven to her classmates that she meant well, the FDD (Flair Documentation Department) continued to keep a close eye on Cherry after the reporting of the accident by the school and the classmate's parents; an incident that would follow her through the rest of her entire life. And the harsh monitoring, frequent counseling sessions, and excessive testing of Cherry's flair demanded by the FDD wouldn't loosen up until she had graduated from high school.

Ever since discovering how good it made her feel to help others in need, Cherry always dreamed of joining the Sphere of Heroics. But her fear of her own flair stood firmly in her way, and held her back from ever exploring its full potential. No matter how much she trained herself to be able to control it, she would never come to fully trust herself enough to. Additionally, Cherry had hidden and continues to hide the true and fullest potential of her flair not only from herself, but the FDD as well, despite knowing the extreme legal ramifications behind doing so. She and her parents knew just how much more heavily she would be monitored for the rest of her life if she didn't, as well as how painfully difficult it would make finding employment and traveling (anyone who has a flair that the FDD deems as "too dangerous to be left unchecked" is practically doomed to a life of little to no privacy and harsh limitations in many aspects of society).
