Super-facts
A superhero from a tabletop game set in an AU DC-verse. Operates out of Citysville (a made-up city on the West Coast, USA). As Reflection, her super suit is black, grey, and one other colour—by default, blue (although the blue colour can change to one of four other colours—green, red, orange, or teal—when it would be helpful to tell each copy apart). Any of the colour variations can be drawn! Additionally, the diamond and triangle details on her outfit are reflective/shiny.
SUMMARY
[Character concept, pre-game]: Raimy moved to Citysville to have a quiet University experience, attending the Central Citysville University (CCU). Having grown up in Metropolis—with ties to the superhero community there—her parents wanted to keep her away from the life of a superhero, and ensure she had a normal post-secondary experience. Raimy lasted a few months before going behind her parent's backs and becoming a superhero anyway.
Series 1 (started March 2017 // had six seasons)
When Reflection started operating, there was little super-activity of any sort in Citysville: only a few, scattered supers who didn't work together, and no major villains. But that changed during her 2nd year at CCU, starting with an attack on a 'back to school' fair while Raimy was helping with freshman orientation. Reflection and the Jack of Spades worked together for the first time to prevent a Ferris Wheel collapse, and were joined by War Hawk while investigating the perpetrator. From humble beginnings, their story grew and expanded to include another hero, Hedon, and the unraveling of a city-wide mystery involving multiple villains, old Thanagarian tech left behind after a failed invasion 20 years prior, and the involvement of new friends from Gotham. Some highlights from along the way (both related to the main story, or as smaller incidents) were: the Batmannequin Incident; a plague of nanobot vampires; a time loop at the Wayne-Grayson Valentine's Day Ball; a museum heist; a battle with a giant mecha-gundam-owl-bot machine; Reflection getting kidnapped in her civilian-persona for reasons unrelated to her superhero persona; and a very weird fight at an airport that involved Jack accidentally summoning a sentient glow cloud that rained zoo animals (yaaay?)
However, not everything went well. As the investigation wore on and the four heroes developed their skills and learned to work together, cracks formed. Series 1 ended up with a series of confrontations, triggered by an incident with Jack's powers. Jack's powers had always been unstable, and his lack of control led to an incident where people got hurt. He was only stopped from going further by Robin's timely intervention (knocking him out from behind)... and when Jack woke up and War Hawk found out what he did, they both lied about it to Reflection and Hedon. Reflection found out about what happened after they'd finally defeated the Big Bad of Series 1 (but only because Robin told her). Reflection was able to convince Jack to step back from the life of an active hero—both for his own mental well-being, and to mitigate the potential damage his powers could cause. Jack settled into a support role, mentoring another new hero in Citysville, Magnanimous—and what could have led to a permanent rift between the two was smoothed over.
Things didn't go as well between Reflection and War Hawk, who'd been starting to conflict even before the 'Jack incidient.' War Hawk and Jack had always been close, and War Hawk didn't appreciate how Reflection was treating Jack. Conversely, Reflection was pissed about being lied to, and believed War Hawk was becoming too much of a loose cannon, lacking in perspective. It wasn't a situation where they could keep working together, so they didn't. While War Hawk remained active in Citysville and worked with Jack and Magnanimous, Reflection elected to step back and focus more on her schooling (only emerging to help with major search and/or rescue operations). After graduation, she left Citysville, moving to Portland and becoming partners with a hero called Foxguard (who had previously been Robin).
As for Hedon... he'd been suspicious about where Reflection's information had come from, believing she was keeping things from him. (Which she was, holding back information about Robin that could have linked him to his civilian identity). Hedon attempted to force her to give him the information using his powers, but Reflection was able to resist the compulsion. In the aftermath, Hedon disappeared, not even sticking around to graduate. (Raimy didn't even know if the reason he disappeared was shame over what he'd done, to avoid the consequences of his action, or because the team was already fracturing). He skipped town, dodged any attempts to contact him, and put the life of a superhero behind him... at least for a time.
Series 2 (started October 2020 // has four seasons so far)
The new series began after an in-character three year time skip. Everyone had left CCU and followed their own paths: Jack and War Hawk in Citysville; Reflection in Portland; and Hedon secretly in California. To be updated
Appearance
Personality
Raimy is an extroverted, outgoing person with high energy levels. She's friendly and sociable, and likes to be involved in the community that she lives and works in. She's always looking to help people, but is less pushy about it than she used to be. She's aware that she can come off as overbearingly friendly at times, and makes an effort not to overwhelm people (especially strangers).
Due to her 'second job' as a superhero, Raimy lives a deceptively secretive life. She lies all the time to protect her identity and maintain a divide between the two identities. Perhaps because of that, Raimy tries to be as honest as she can be in other aspects of her life—she doesn't like lying, but it's part of being a superhero, and not one that Raimy is going to lose sleep over.
Raimy is also curious (and some would say nosy), and protective. These are what led her to become a superhero, and also what led her into her budding career in analytic journalism. Raimy has a desire to know things, and a desire to keep people safe—and they often feed into each other. Information is power, and power can be used to change the world, and that's exactly what Raimy's trying to accomplish. At heart, she wants to understand the world, and she wants to make the world a better place.
Relationships
NPC! Former Robin, Foxx started his career in Gotham and received the classic Bat-training suite. He uses skill and gadgets in combat, including a high-tech sword that can swap modes. Raimy and Foxx started dating in Series 1, and Kytt joined later.
NPC! Former Batgirl, Kytt grew up as a legacy kid in the Bat Family, receiving training from a young age. She is acrobatic, quippy, and skilled. Her primary weapons are taser-batons and birdarangs. Kytt started dating Raimy and Foxx (forming a polyamorous triad) in the time skip between Series 1 & 2.
Hedon can drain the life force of people and use this energy to buff himself in a couple of different ways. He also has the power of suggestion. His powers are demonic in origin, and can sometimes overwhelm him.
Recently empowered in the same event that killed Jack (during Series 2), Haywire is still learning to control his powers. His domain is electricity, allowing him to control and possess machines, travel through electrical lines, and do zappy zappy things.
A recently awakened android who joined the team in Series 2. Blue Tempest has infrared vision, an unlimited WiFi connection, and other benefits from being a robot. He also has the power of hydrokinesis, and can fly via cyclone.
Jack had the ability to randomly generate powers, either for himself or to give to others. They were temporary, and wore off after a certain period of time. His powers were often unstable and hard to control. He was previously one of Reflection's superhero partners, but stepped into a support role three years before he died in Series 2.
War Hawk's powers are flight, super speed (while flying), and super strength. His main weapon is a hammer, partially coated in Nth metal. He was previously one of Reflection's superhero partners, but betrayed their team in Series 2 (after Jack's death) and is now on the run.
