Personality

Bianca is a reserved but strong woman who may seem quite serious at first glance, but actually has a bit of a playful side. She's more than confident enough in herself and her masterful swordplay, so doesn't get the slightest bit anxious in the face of danger, often snarkily toying with her opponents as she faces them with complete calm. Despite her strength she's a gentle and caring person who frowns upon fighting without reason. 

She's instinctively maternal, even in her rebellious youth she was keen to look after the weak, and often uses her experience and wisdom to give advice to those who need it, hoping to guide them down the right path. She is very responsible and does not take her role as a figure of authority within Peculiar Ops lightly, restraining herself in front of others so as not to wrongly encourage them to misuse their own powers in hopes of matching her.

However, there is another side to Bianca that she desparately keeps secret from everybody she knows, intentionally keeping details about her life a mystery to those who admire her. She feels they may be disappointed and disheartened to learn that the secret behind her sword skills is a childhood obsession with samurai. When it comes to the old warriors of the east, Bianca is, to this day, a complete and utter fangirl otaku, enthusiastically losing her mind over the mere thought of them. Most of her techniques and words of wisdom secretly come from samurai works that she has experienced dozens upon dozens of times. She also frequently disguises herself to attend museum exhibits and culture festivals focused on the subject and has an almost childlike giddiness to her in doing so.

Though her passion is genuine, and actually proves to have been a useful motivator in building her strength as a person, as a grown woman she feels an overwhelming shame and embarrassment over it socially, and is determined that her obsession is a secret she takes with her to the grave. She has wildly erratic anxiety spikes when she encounters someone she knows while in her disguise, but fortunately it's so out-of-character for her usual image that she is rarely recognised.

Misc.

• Her favourite food is takoyaki, although she hates being seen eating it.
• Despite her otaku interests, Bianca has no interest in anime unless samurai are the main subject matter of the series.
• The only people aware of her samurai obsession are her fellow founders, Benny and Cure. They've both known her long enough to be accepting of it and are sworn to secrecy out of sheer pity for her. The Chief was also in the know at one point, but has since lost the memories due to the nature of his ability.

Background

Bianca's path was truly set in motion the day she was an old samurai film as a young child. She was immediately infatuated with the subject and grew obsessed with it, reenacting techniques she saw in movies with sticks she found on the ground, in what any would assume was just another childhood phase. However, her passion continued to persist in her adolesence, though she had grown a bit embarrassed by it. Her room was full of merchandise and memoribilia she had collected over the years and she was petrified by the idea of any of her friends coming over and seeing it, but she had a prideful self-satisfaction with her efforts.

Though she had become quite skilled a self-taught swordswoman from observing films and other reenactments, she felt frustrated with her practice swords and longed to claim a real, authentic blade for her collection. She attended numerous conventions and marketplaces in hopes of acquiring one, but to no avail, either being outbidded or questioning the authenticity of the sale. Eventually however, she finally crossed paths with a sword she fell in love with at first sight, and was able to get her hands on fairly cheap! Unbeknownst to her though, this sword was not a samurai artefact and was in fact a peculiar item made by the engimatic figure, the Craftsman.

Bianca soon discovered the newly-christened Tadashi no Shirokaze's abilities and found herself using the weapon for some innocent vigilantism. She built a reputation for herself as a local legend, a serious and straigh-laced young woman who could be relied on in times of need, particularly with the increasing emergence of the Peculiar Boom. This caught the attention of one Desmond Monarch, who recruited her as one of the founding members of his crime-fighting taskforce that would go on to become the Peculiar Ops agency. 

Within this line of work, Bianca's strength only increased, her skills with her weapon increasing dramatically. When the team took in the young runaways Carla and Ruby, Bianca acted as a mother towards them and was steadfast in teaching the former the ways of the blade, though to her quiet disappointment Carla ended up choosing to use knives rather than swords.

Synopsis

Like the other founders and her protigee Carla, Bianca is one of Peculiar Ops' most elite agents, the Devas, all of whom are infamous across the nation. She is frequently tasked special solo missions of the highest importance, and so is often absent from the agency for long periods of time. In the brief times she returns, awaiting her next task, she is revered by the agency's members as a legendary idol and constantly sought after. She is flattered by the attention but usually has to brush them off in favour of what she claims to be training. In fact, she is simply using her down time to relax and geek out, disguising herself to attend markets and conventions in hopes of expanding her samurai merchandise collection.

She has largely been able to keep her true lifestyle a secret, paritcularly from her surrogate daughters Carla and Ruby. However she begins to struggle due to the reserved Carla getting sucked up into the more outgoing social group of Mustang's gang, and finds herself constantly in jeopardy of being exposed whilst out and about.
