PERSONALITY
Projects an uneasy confidence. Can read as arrogant and self-centered. Often seems irritated (scowls a lot). Doesn't seem very approachable (if he doesn't know you he will be cold and dismissive).
Over-confident bordering on arrogant. Well aware of his strengths/abilities, he's worked hard on skills he can do and isn't about to downplay his effort. Puts a lot of time to practice what he can't do.
Misses social queues such as sarcasm/dry humor and takes things too literally.
Does care a lot and shows it in really subtle ways (gives really good advice and will keep an eye on you if he's worried something's up), but once he's had enough shows that in subtle ways too. It's not beyond Archie to be petty and hide all your shirts or jam the lock on your sea chest shut.
Short tempered and prone to random and sudden bouts of irritability that's usually over silly things that'd go over his head if he were in a better mood. He hates this and has been working on it.
Short attention span, he finds it hard to concentrate on a task for extended periods of time. Archie is easily distracted and quick to become restless, fidgety.
Determined and strong willed or naievely optimistic? It's hard to tell at times.
Archie generally isn’t interested in socializing with people he doesn't know and given a choice he would prefer to be left alone over mixing with strangers. Will make an excuse to leave early if he has to. Can be lively if he's comfortable enough with someone/a group.

- HOBBY IS Card games He enjoys a number of card games but loves Whist. Gets very competitive and plays to win.
HABITS
- Catastrophasizes Fixates and worries over minor mistakes/slightly awkward circumstances that don't go as he planned.
- Fidget Tends to pace, fiddle with things or tap out a beat. Moving whilst he's thinking helps him stay focused on the task.
- nail biter Does this when he's stressed or thinking. He's fully aware he does it and it's part of why he tries to keep his hands busy.
TRIVIA
- Archie's very direct and blunt, he talks with a clipped tone that if you don't know how Archie well it can feel like Archie's constantly being short with you for no reason but you'd know if he really was being short.
- Archie snores so he tends to wrap himself up in his hammock, on previous ships the Lieutenants he berthed with got fed-up of him snoring and would dump him on the floor to wake him up.
- Likes to keep busy. Always has something on the go, either practicing fencing, knots or reading.
- Likes to go and brood in the fighting top. Part of it is because Archie likes high spaces and enjoys sliding down the backstays when returning to the deck and the other part is that sitting in the yards are one place on the ship where he feels he can be truly alone with his thoughts if he needs to think things over or just needs a bit of space.
- He's a fairly confident if slow reader who tends to read in bursts and struggles more with writing and numbers. Hates filling in Legacy's log books.
- Crazy good sense of space. Can accurately guestimate distances and depth. When it comes to weapons he is better with close range weapons like swords or a tomahawk (has improvised a Handy Billy as a crude rope dart like weapon) but isn't too bad with a pistol.
- Enjoys being center of attention in the right company. Once he starts getting on with Owen, Archie's known to shamelessly mock act Owen's more vulgar poems. The more rowdy the gunroom becomes at his antics the more it encourages him to exaggerate.
