Kero is an ex-bartender unexpectedly turned demon hunter. They’re an orphan, and grew up in foster care before aging out of the system and striking out on their own.
Once having gotten over the initial terror of almost being eaten alive in an incident that changed their life forever and cut their career as a mixologist short, they were kind of thrilled to discover that demons and ghosts exist. They were even more thrilled to discover that angels existed. They forced Bishop to teach them all he knew by threatening to go out and hunt demons on their own, and then forced Bishop to let a busted up fallen angel with a price on its head crash at their place for the rest of time. They really have him wrapped around their finger. They also might be slightly prophetic?
Kero is, for an adult emo, quite cheerful. They’re optimistic til the end, which can sometimes come across as naivety or immaturity, but in reality is a necessary trait to keep them trucking on through life.
Kero loves feelings. They feel openly, wildly, and freely; they figure life is too short not to. They treasure both the positive and the negative emotions. They’re one of those people who loves crying. They give their love out willy-nilly-- they just don’t often expect to be loved back. It’s very nice when that happens. They aren’t clingy; they never expect reciprocity, they just love for the sake of it.Kero has a need to help others, to comfort others, even when it comes at their own expense or when the targets aren’t especially deserving.
Although Kero is definitely a bit happy-go-lucky, that doesn’t mean they don’t have their down moments. Kero doesn’t expect to have their affections reciprocated because they don’t think they’re particularly worth anyone else’s time. They don’t think they’re anything special, that they could easily be ignored or forgotten about. The idea that they’ll die and no one will remember their existence is quite terrifying to them.
- Divine Inspiration: Kero appears to be at least slightly prophetic. We shall see how this plays out.
- Plugged In: Kero is the only one of the three who has even the slightest understanding of how to use the Internet.
- Indomitable Spirit: No matter how bad things seem, Kero will truck on. Even against unbeatable odds, Kero keeps trying.
- Soft: Kero tends towards being overly-empathetic and reluctant to kill, which is not usually a dangerous trait for normal people, but can be risky if you're in the demon-hunting business.
- Greenhorn: They may be decently athletic, but Kero is wholly untrained in demon-hunting, and has much to learn if they want to survive.
- Kero is a shortish person of average build, with warm, medium-brown skin. Their eyes are brown, with a monolid. Kero has scattered freckles/birthmarks all over their body, but most distinctive are the symmetrical dark freckles on each of their cheeks. They have a small chest, and sometimes bind. Kero has turquoise-dyed hair, but usually their roots are showing, and their shaved sides are pretty grown out. Kero's hair is rarely seen out of a high ponytail.

Kero was not about to let Bishop abandon this fucked up fallen angel. Admittedly, they had no idea back then how dangerous that choice would turn out to be, but even with hindsight they wouldn't have done it any differently. Kero saw something that needed help, and they were going to give it.
Kero is totally fascinated by Wormwood. They want to teach it all about the mortal plane and what it's like to be human, but they're equally interested in hearing about what Wormwood knows of Heaven and angels. Kero thinks Wormwood is kind of adorable, too.
Bishop did not originally want to be Kero's friend. They accidentally found out about the existence of demons and Bishop had to very quickly team up with them to keep the both of them alive during a dangerous situation. After said situation had passed, however, Bishop hoped they could just part ways and move on, bt Kero's thirst for demon hunting was awakened and they were determined to go on doing it alone if they had to. Thankfully, Bishop realized that if they tried that they would definitely definitely die, and so he grudgingly agreed to take them on as a partner/apprentice. And after some time they definitely became good friends. Kero teaches him what LOL and JFC mean.
Kero adores Bishop. He reminds them of a brown bear: big and cuddly and sort of sleepy looking, but a complete and utter murder machine. They eagerly absorb the stuff he tells them and then selectively remember it.
