Andre Patel (Vampire AU)

Andre's maker used hypnosis to lull him before getting him to turn. He woke up in a coffin when it finally wore off, with no idea what was happening. It terrified him and he got sick, which was even more terrifying realizing it was blood. His maker came to check on all the fuss he was making, and Andre immediately attached to him for being his "savior". Which is, unfortunate, as he's the one who put him in the situation in the first place and he's Not A Good Man.

Andre’s in a very bad spot with an abusive maker and coven. He’s basically one of if not the weakest of the group, and purposely kept that way. Just kinda kept him around as a plaything and scapegoat if needed. The last to eat, forced to have bad sleep, not usually allowed to leave, used, promised a lot of things with no reward, and kept in the dark (pun accidentally intended) about coven decisions and just general important vampire information that he could’ve easily been taught in order to help him. He was with them for quite a long time, but it would be especially hard for a freshly turned vampire thrown into this mess without much concept of their new found immortality like he was, it seemed like forever. Roughly a decade or two, maybe?

One night there was a raid at the hideout Andre and others stayed at, an attack in attempt to bring down the awful and powerful vamps. They're in a coven well known for being dangerous and terrible, but of course Andre had no choice really and gets caught up in the crossfire. He feels indebted to the crew and is forced to stay and fight while they attempt to flee.

He was left basically to die alone in a destroyed house for days, but he gets discovered by Levi and Izzy, who rehabilitate and help out vamps in their own little coven. News of the attack traveled, and Levi wanted to check if there were any survivors. He didn't like to hear that some weaker vamps were only treated like pawns while the real terrifying vamps got away mostly unscathed. Andre was found as a bloody crumpled mess in a wrecked coffin, starved and too weak to heal himself. They take him home and care for him, patiently and gentle. While Lucky's a bit apprehensive and jealous of the attention his partners are giving Andre, he understands the hardships as he went through something similarly bad.

He gets sick often, he overeats after being starved for so long but he can't handle much more than what he was allowed to eat and he's very weak because of it. It takes a while to slowly build himself back up to an appropriate appetite.

After Andre heals, he gains some independence and confidence by going to a local Vampire Nightclub for blood and a good time. Technically he isn't alone, at first, Levi or Izzy go with him to keep an eye on things, but it's baby steps. He feels comfortable doing his own thing knowing they're nearby if he gets into some trouble. As he gets stronger and feels stronger, he goes out on his own more often. He still has bad days though, and at one point even runs into a member of his ex-coven with disastrous results... On the plus side, he befriends Evelyn, the owner of the nightclub as she calms things down and ends up blacklisting those ex-coven members.

He doesn't like the thought of strangers joining their coven and gets upset at the new vamps, Nathan and Kriss. Andre’s mostly fine by then, but the trauma still lingers in some ways, and these boys seem to take the vampire life as a bit of a fun goofy time, like a silly movie. He seems very mysterious to them, but really he’s just… really worried about strangers moving in and taking up his partner’s attention now so he’s being standoffish and a lil spooky. He doesn’t want to talk to them or trust them or anything, he just wants to LURK! He does have an easier time getting to know Kriss, he gets sick and weak a lot at first, too. It's a little scary for him to think about again, but he knows how it feels and wouldn't want to be alone. So he quietly (sometimes attempting to be sneaky about it) keeps Kriss company. He appreciates it and talks to Andre often, not really looking for any particular response, but trying to get them both comfortable.

Secret talents include: doing a perfect "Dracula" impersonation.

Appearance

Andre's hair is longer in the vampire AU than it is normally. He has a mismatch of styles sometimes, he can definitely wear more formal, older era of clothes, typical vampire things like flowy unbuttoned white blouses that inevitably get drenched in blood... but he also enjoys casual modern clothes and edgier, kinda punk things for nights out at the club!

Has several scars, including one on his chest, a stake mark that branded him by his original maker. Most scars tend to heal on vamps, but he wasn't healthy enough at the time of the injuries.
