A lil rebellious child... The "badboy loner" who’s bad at being a loner because he usually attaches very easily to anyone who shows him the slightest bit of positive attention.. Bleaches a strip of hair and pierces one ear, trying to keep both easy enough to hide from his strict parents while still trying to "look cool".
Andre's father is the principal of the high school. He hates it, thanks for asking. He gets into trouble A LOT. His father knows most of his friends are troublemakers and don't appreciate a few of them hanging out together. It doesn't help that his sister, who probably recently graduated was a top class high honors student, successful in many clubs and activities. He hates the comparisons, too.
He has the tendency to skip classes, sometimes for a smoke break (he's very fond of Lucky, the boy he usually shares smokes with), sometimes longer just to hangout. He gets into fights, and he hooks up with people under the bleachers sometimes, mostly early on before he gets really into his new friend group.
It's mostly with guys who may have wanted to experiment but aren't keen on Coming Out, or maybe they just wanted to get off and no one else would. They definitely don't wanna be caught dead with Andre in any normal setting, and some would even make fun of him and call him gay in front of others. They're just there because he's convenient and willing and he knows how to keep his mouth shut. It fucks with his self esteem! He doesn't feel like someone who people would Want to spend time with! But he likes attention and feeling like he's good at something, so he keeps doing it as long as they come back to him, oops.
Early on he's on the fringes of some friend groups, but he doesn't think a lot of these kids actually like him all that much. Starts hanging around Nate and Dante and their crew of friends, but he's a little skeptical of their motivations and genuineness towards him. Dante's pretty popular and well liked by a lot of the kids and Andre hasn't had the most luck when it comes to "Popular Kids" being nice to him without wanting something in return and things going wrong. He starts to open up and get closer, they'd even consider him a friend! However, Dante and Nate tend to tease each other and their close friends in their own joking loving way, but Andre being new to the group wasn't aware that it's just fun for them.. They apologize for teasing him, but Andre just thinks he was right all along and shuts them out again... Until Dante defends Andre, even if it gets himself into trouble, too, and Andre realizes hey maybe somebody Does care about him, wow..
He breaks his arm skateboarding, and has his artist friend Kriss paint on his cast. Hurts his eye in shop class, bc he forgot to put his goggles back on. Oopsie!
He can drive and has a beat up old used car that gets the job done. Though, he doesn't actually mind skateboarding or biking around town. There will eventually be a high school road trip with most of the friends, and he does a significant amount of the driving for them! (partially because he's nervous about other's driving skills and needs to be in control,, but also he's prone to motion sickness when he's not in the front seat)
