Word: (English) The rosy-patched bushshrike is a species of bird in the Malaconotidae family. It is monotypic within the genus Rhodophoneus. It is found in Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, and Tanzania. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry shrubland.
Personality: Slow, Methodical, Morbid, Stoic, Pensive, Thoughtful, Sentimental
Likes: Insect-pinning, Taxidermy, Quiet workspaces, Morbid art and writing, Catharsis
Dislikes: Letting go, Interruptions, Taking breaks
Design Notes:
- Ventral side of wings does NOT matcj the dorsal (please refrain from drawing its wings open until we make a ref for the underside)
- Yellow spots on tail glow
- Mostly covered in feathers
- Tail is squishy and unfeathered, like a gecko tail
- Feet and forearms are scaly like bird legs
- Crest and thorns on its tail have a woody texture
Character Notes:
- It manages the museum's insect collection but assists with bird or rodent taxidermy from time to time as well.
- It can singlemindedly focus on a project all day and into the night if no one intervenes and encourages it to rest. If it does take a break, it must find just the right stopping point and arrange its temporarily-abandoned task just so or else it may never resume the project.
