Design Notes

  • His eyes' sclera is a very light blue.
  • He has a faint circuit pattern on his fingertips.
  • His tail resembles a flame.
  • Usually seen in his armor when he's in A.I. form.
Personality

As an AI originally developed for military purposes, he’s quick to listen to orders, only questioning them when they might endanger his allies’ or his own wellbeing. He’s extremely loyal to Skitter and (to an extent) Ryoga for having given him a chance of actually being alive and sentient, and would do any sacrifice for them without a second thought.

Despite his stoic appearance, he has quite the sarcasm always ready (Skitter blames it on the internet).

Trivia

  • He's far more knowledgeable in memes and internet culture than anyone would think.
POWERS

  • Fast reflexes
  • Knowledgeable in combat and the use of weapons
  • Hacking skills, can even hijack robots and systems given enough time to work on it
  • His robotic body is quite strong
  • Has jet propulsors installed in his robotic body

History

A scraped G.U.N. project, Axel (back then known as Ax3.0) was an AI in development meant to help with technological threats, be it viruses or robots. Lack of time, results and budget led to the project’s shutdown, and what was left of Axel’s code was sealed in a secured computer and then forgotten, left to take dust in the G.U.N.’s systems forever. Or at least until a curious owl found him and decided to take him home.

When Skitter found the incomplete code, he started working day and night to get it up and running, unaware of just what he was working on, moved by simple curiosity. Many weeks later, Axel’s code was functioning enough to finally bring him back online, keeping him more stable than the few test runs the G.U.N. programmers ran before giving up. It took far more work, effort and a few sleepless night to get him to a point where he could actually be considered sentient, but it was all worth it in the end. Axel became a great friend to the owl and immediately decided to repay his kindness with his own hard work, helping to deal with the most dangerous malwares and finding hidden errors and damages in the machines Skitter worked on.

A few months passed, and Skitter decided to work on something more for him: a robotic body he could use whenever he wanted to access the real world. Despite his insistence that it wasn’t necessary –as tempting as it was to be able to walk around and explore the real world like anyone else-, Skitter was far more stubborn than him, and didn’t take much longer to start working on the blueprints, always asking for his input whenever it was necessary because it was his future body, after all.

It was during one of those nights spent working on the finer details of those blueprints –despite all of Axel’s nagging to get Skitter to sleep- that he finally met the friend Skitter had mentioned a few times with such a melancholic look on his face. Not the best first impression though.

A ride home and a few confused explanations and introductions later, they were all sitting –or floating, in Arashi’s case- in Skitter’s living room/improvised workshop, physically, mentally and emotionally drained. It didn’t take much for the two of the group that needed it to decide ‘screw everything’ and go to sleep to deal with the whole situation in the morning.

While at first Axel was a bit skeptical on letting Ryoga stay with them after what he has done, he ended up warming up to him after some time, eventually coming to accept him as a friend.

Now, Axel and Skitter help Ryoga with his vigilantism, keeping an eye on him with Arashi’s help and occasionally tagging along when the situation looked too tough for him to handle alone.

As an AI and robot, he handles what Skitter can’t take care of when it comes to technology, along with being the speed member of the team.
