"What a shame..."

You know, you think something meant to keep track of foolishness would be able to avoid it.

Nox appears to be an enigma, but they are fairly simple to understand. They are an overseer, with the job to watch over particularly careless individuals. That being said, they have been foolish in the past, and have paid dearly for it. Currently, they tend to keep track of other peoples' stories for no other reason than entertainment. They have gotten some aspects of their old job back, but are under watchful eye for the time being. There is a rumour that they run a pub of some sort in a city somewhere. But then again, who really knows.

Nox is both a sona and an oc w/ their own story

History

An Overseer's job is to carefully watch and monitor specific aspects so that the Dreamverse stays in proper order. The Overseer of Fool's job is to monitor and interfere with those disrupting natural order and balance, typically in the pursuit of power. They are meant to get rid of possible sapient catalysts to preventable catastrophes. Overseers are meant to give second chances, usually through negotiation, however after an eon of doing so, the Overseer of Fool switch from being apathetic to being bored. Negotiation and second chances left mistakes occasionally, and the new seeping feeling over boredom led the Overseer to cease the behavior. Instead, they skipped the process and executed possible catalysts instead, either quick and effectively, or toying with them first for their own entertainment and eventually leading them to their own demise. However, Overseers do not hold the highest state of authority, and behavior like that did not go unnoticed

Dormancy

The first to notice the Overseer's switch in behavior is the Overseer of Error, unsurprisingly. However, they are an Overseer that takes a stance of judgement; they monitor errors in order to figure out what to do with them. They leave the Overseer of Fools alone, due to their own amusement of their actions, as the Overseer executes and manipulates creatures time and time again. The second to notice is the Overseer of Hope, a "sibling" of the Overseer of Fools, who had became drawn to the consequences of their sibling's actions, as the cruel dispatching had cause several pockets of despair to appear. Pockets that interfered with her own monitoring and fostering of hope. Her own meddling would eventually lead to her own demise, as the Overseer of Fools 'kills' her in order to prevent their actions from reaching any of the Elder Elites. The remnants of a stripped and exiled Overseer ended up witness this action and, in hopes of gaining his own status back, reports it to the Elder Elites. Leading the Overseer of Fools to get pulled into judgement, and forced into dormancy by the Bride of the Abyss; an Elder Elite who merely watches over other Elites' creations.

Re-Awakening

The Bride of the Abyss, upon request, wakes the Overseer of Fools sometime around the 18th century. They are stripped of their original form, most of their authority, and their title. It takes another two centuries before they decide on the name of Nox, and they are allowed to negotiate their punishment with The Bride. Currently they are allowed their base abilities, but are exiled to waking worlds, and are only allowed back into the dreamverse to do their job if they are being actively monitored. Nox hopes that eventually they will earn back their original form and their title, but they are fairly comfortable with their current situation. Aside from the fact that a scion of The Overseer of Hope is the one in charge of reporting and monitoring them. That they could do without.

Bride of the Abyss

[ Boss/Maker ] The Bride of the Abyss is an Elder Elite of high standing. Unlike it's siblings, it finds no need to create any form of life. However, it does enjoy the obligation of monitoring and controlling it's siblings' creations, akin to a family watching over their kid's pet. This obligation has resulted in them being the one to carry out punishment towards Nox along with bringing them back.

Overseer of Error

[ Enemy ] The Overseer of Error holds first place when it comes to how much Nox hates them. That being said they aren't that different in nature. Error likes to watch over grevious mistakes, and considers whether or not they should be fixed or let run their course. That being said, they were obviously attracted by Nox's foolish mistake.

Overseer of Hope

[ Sibling(?)/Enemy ] The Overseer of Hope is one of the nicer overseers, and unfortunately got in Nox's way during their failed mission. They were temporarily "killed" by Nox, and brought back shortly after their death. They hold extreme contempt for Nox (reasonably so), while Nox mainly avoids them to avoid a possible conflict.
