Dina, in this medieval AU, is a bit removed from her canon self. While her canon self is more of a pushover, in this story, Dina (though she's still shy and kind in nature), is more brave and powerful.
It all started when she and her mother were about to be burned at the stake when she was young. Dina's mother did inappropriate things for a living and she was basically a prostitute. A lot of the women in the town they lived in wanted to kill her mother through any means necessary and they eventually convinced the men to do so. Just when Dina and her mother were about to die from the flames of a dragon, a troop of knights came in just then, intervening in the situation. It was explicitly forbidden for someone to die while burning at the stake, especially by a dragon's flames, and so they helped save Dina and her mother.
Eventually, Dina's powerful Delta powers were noticed by Her Majesty herself and she was granted a job position as an upcoming gardener for the royal palace. By securing herself with this job at an early age, she was able to help provide for both herself and her mother.
Currently, Dina's been living her days content. She's made a few close friends and has advanced knowledge in botany and even, to an extent, healing. She's learning a bit about healing from the head physician Rose.
- Dina isn't afraid of fire, but whenever she hears about people burning at the stake, she's immediately reminded of that time she almost died as a kid. She also doesn't slut shame, especially when her mother used to sleep with men for a living. Even if people are promiscious by choice, Dina still doesn't see anything wrong with that.
- Her love story here, in this fantasy medieval AU, is a complex one. In the beginning, it focused a bit on Dina being interested in Gwyneth and Gwyneth willing to give Dina a try with dating, only for Dina to break things off between them two days later because she realized that they were incompatible personality-wise. They could still remain as good friends, but she didn't think they'd ever make it work as romantic partners, and that hurt Gwyneth for a bit. In the end, both Gwyneth and Dina end up bearing feelings for Enzo. They make it a fair and official competition, in the name of love, from there.
