About

Uriel is a Lambda Floss who currently works as a tour guide. During the daytime, he'll help show the Floss that hail from other clans around and specializes in introducing them to the glorious beaches that the Lambda Clan is notorious for.

On some nights, especially during the weekends, Uriel (alongside other tourist guides) will help set up festive feasts and parties for any guests seeking out some fun. His entire job is dedicated to assisting others have a nice time, and though it can be exhausting and require an abundance of energy, he truly does enjoy doing what he does for a living.

Personality

Uriel may come off as a happy and carefree individual with no worries in sight, he may seem like a ditzy airhead on the outside, but in actuality he’s incredibly emotionally intelligent and lowkey manipulative. He’s surprisingly strict about things going his way in his work and sometimes in his personal life as well, and will pull any strings possible behind the scenes to have events go in his favor.

He’s also extremely observant, even if he may not act like it, and is quick to catch onto a subject. A lot of people constantly think he’s dumb and tend to lower their guard and what they say around him, which only makes observing a lot easier to do.

Uriel doesn’t lie often, he usually sees no reason to, but whenever he does, he transforms into a very gifted actor. It’s extremely difficult to catch him in the act of lying, since he’s so good at faking it til he makes it.

He is a genuinely good and calm person for the most part, it’s just that he also happens to believe that by subtly making a situation go good for him, he can just live an easier life that way, hence why he’s lowkey manipulative if needed. In a way, he’s just lazy to a really large extent and wants things to go right for him because it’s easier and takes less work. He likes taking the easier way out if possible. He totally used to be the type of kid who would try to figure out extremely elaborate ways on how to cheat on his exams without getting caught instead of just studying for it.

Abilities

As a Lambda, Uriel’s excellent at reading emotions, calming people down, and lulling them into a state of pleasant serenity. He’s a natural born prodigy when it comes to using his given powers, especially when it comes to relaxation, though the way that he uses them is subtle and not all that showy. He doesn’t like to draw too much attention onto himself.

Backstory

Uriel Umi was born and raised in a beach house near the sea, located near the gorgeous coast of the Lambda Clan.

Though he lived out his summers collecting seashells from the shoreline and climbing palm trees as an athletic kid, he also frequented visits and road trips outside of Lambda territory as well.

Since he actually had some family living out all the way in the Epsilon Clan, Uriel would sometimes spend his time staying over in Epsilon territory for a while. He loved the Epsilon Clan just as much as the Lambda. For a few years, he even transferred and enrolled in an Epsilon-dominated elementary school since his family was comfortable migrating back and forth from there to their beach house in the Lambda Clan.

He met an Epsilon gal named Athena, who became his childhood friend that he’s still in contact with to this day, and would hang out with her often. They’d talk and sometimes Uriel would support her by showing up to her calligraphy contests. Athena excelled at calligraphy and was often going against this Beta girl named Celine, her ultimate rival.

These calligraphy contests would be held four times a year, so once every season, and Uriel would always attend without fail. Like Athena, Celine also apparently had a childhood friend that would show up to the calligraphy contests without fail as well, and she was a Kappa girl named Esther.

Much to his own surprise, Uriel gradually started to fall for Esther over time, or at least with every time that he’d see her. He didn’t want to feel the way that he did, but it’s not like he had the ability to control his own romantic feelings. If only he could as a Lambda, then he wouldn’t have to feel his heart rate pick up every time he even sensed Esther in the same room as him.

He and Esther were often having to see each other and cross paths during these calligraphy contests too, so he figured that it wouldn’t hurt to get her contact info and at least be mutuals. He didn’t expect to be anything else other than friends at best.

They started talking a lot, first through text and then through call, and eventually Uriel and Esther kept meeting and eventually dating (the feelings were reciprocated!) in secret, without Athena or Celine’s knowledge. Uriel didn’t know how Athena would react if she knew that he was basically in love with her rival’s friend.

Athena and Celine did find out eventually one day, when one of them had caught Uriel and Esther together, but the both of them decided to put their differences aside and just be happy for their friends.

Several years of long-distance dating later, Uriel had asked Esther to move in with him one day, to which she had agreed. A few years later, he proposed and she had accepted.

Now he and Esther are currently married and they share a house together in the Lambda Clan. Esther mostly works at home as a manga artist while Uriel is often out during the day as a tourist guide.

Other

Uriel knows a bunch of psychological tricks that he usually tries to use in his everyday life. For example, he could come up to someone (maybe one of his co-workers) and ask them for a big favor (like taking care of a pet for him over the weekend) that doesn’t really exist. After they decline doing the big favor, Uriel will then ask them of a smaller favor (and the real favor that he’s wanting to get done all along), and usually they’ll agree because it’s a more smaller thing to do compared to the nonexistent big favor that he asked for earlier.

After Athena and Celine started to (surprisingly) date each other, Uriel eventually came to embrace Celine as a friend too.
