Hades is a Delta Floss who works at a high-class restaurant by day. By night, he gets to kick back, make dinner, and have some quality cuddle time with his husband.

Either that, or he’ll go out for karaoke and rap to some rapid-fire beats, which he definitely likes to do as a hobby. He currently lives in the Mu Clan due to his spouse's nursing job and is happily enjoying the married life right now.

Personality

Long story short, Hades is a mischievous asshole who likes to tease people. Even for his age, he still enjoys getting a reaction out of someone and trolling with them. He used to be an infamous troublemaker as a kid and loved stirring up chaos. Fun is what he’s all about, and he believes in living life to the fullest.

He’s also got a bit of an ego going on, though it’s mellowed out over the years and he’s learned to be slightly more humble nowadays. Slightly. He still likes to boast about past accomplishments every now and then.

Even though he can be reckless to an extent, he’ll still recognize his limits (for the most part) and know when to stop. For example, Hades would skip class sometimes back when he was in high school, but he was super selective and careful with ditching certain classes and showing up to others, depending on how his grade was in a particular course or how much attendance mattered to a particular teacher. He wouldn’t skip all the time, he tried to avoid getting expelled or suspended (and it worked).

Lastly, for someone who used to be and still is a little rebellious, Hades doesn’t like to get into fights. He doesn’t like conflict and believe that it interferes with a lot of time that could be used for something else.

Abilities

As a Delta, Hades can make plants - usually something small, like a stalk of sugar canes or a strawberry bush - grow a little. His abilities actually work better during nighttime, so they're 'nocturnal' in a way, but that’s about all he can manage so far.

Other than that, he’s pretty weak as a Delta. It’s not like he practices what he can do very often. He never had any motivation to try since he was born and raised in the Zeta region for most of his life and was constantly surrounded by Zetas, not Deltas.

Backstory

Growing up, Hades was born and raised in the Zeta Clan. His mother was a Zeta Floss while his father was actually from the Delta Clan, but they both decided to settle down in the Zeta region. While Hades does recall visiting the Delta region during his summer vacations, he’s never stayed over there for longer than a season.

So, even though his Delta soul gem may show otherwise, since all Floss inherit what soul gem they'll have through their father, Hades has always felt like a natural born Zeta citizen. After all, he grew up being surrounded by a bunch of Zetas, it was only natural for him to start feeling like one.

Speaking of which, there was this one Zeta boy named River that Hades used to pick on and tease, just because it made him feel more superior by doing so and River was an easy, pushover target who wouldn’t fight back. Back then, Hades was a little shit who liked to make things difficult for everyone just to make him feel better about himself.

Hades wouldn’t get physical, he couldn’t anyway since he was shorter and always at a disadvantage when it came to their physique, but he’d constantly poke fun at River whenever they’d cross paths. Which was pretty often, considering how they were constantly enrolled in the same schools and were next-door neighbors since forever.

At the age of twelve or thirteen, just when Hades was starting to hit adolescence, he came to a horrible epiphany: he had a huge crush on River. That would explain why Hades was practically obsessed with being near River often, even if most of their interactions by this point did consist of Hades bossing River around and doing him favors. Because again, Hades liked feeling as if he were above someone, and he liked being able to have someone do almost whatever he wanted.

Confused by his feelings, since he had never really felt this strongly about any of the other girls he had fleeting crushes on before, Hades started to tease and pick on River even more. He figured that if he kept doing this, eventually whatever ’weird love phase’ he was going through will cease to exist.

Hades wanted to be near River pretty much all the time due to his intense romantic attraction for him, but he also wasn’t the type to be sappy about how he felt and would just try to act tough about it. He didn’t think that things would ever work out for them either.

As time flew by and they started to progress into high school, River snapped at Hades one day, fed up with Hades for always trying to make his life harder. River didn’t usually snap and he was usually a soft boy, he would often just let Hades do whatever he wanted since he was probably used to his shit by now, but in that moment Hades had pushed him on a day where River had just been harshly scolded by his parents over his career choices and future.

After that, River treated Hades with a harsh cold shoulder, which left Hades feeling incredibly remorseful about his past behavior. Hades didn’t know about what River was going through at home at this time, he knew that River’s parents are sort of strict but he never thought much into it, and so he thought that River blowing up at him was all completely his fault. This event also made Hades come to terms with his crush on River more too.

Once the reality of what was happening struck him like a punch, Hades tried desperately to do anything just to get River to look at him again. Turns out that being without River was ten times more agonizing than he thought. He tried to be super nice and do River some favors, but his attempts would always end up looking suspicious and failing miserably.

Hades sucked at being nice and was prone to messing that up by accident. For example, he tried to bake River a chocolate cake once (since Truffles like to eat more bitter and chocolate-y food items), only to accidentally spill the cake on River’s favorite shirt. It’s not in his personality to be open and kind, it goes against a lot of what defines Hades, so whenever Hades tried to be, he was always finding some way to fuck it up.

Fed up by Hades’ awful attempts at being nice, and thinking that Hades was only doing all of this just to try to poke fun at him again if they went back to how they used to be, River snapped at Hades again one day and basically told him to screw off.

At this point, Hades didn’t know what else to do, he had done everything he possibly can, and so he ended up breaking down in the saddest way possible. Like he was a hot mess in this moment, there was an uncontrollable sob coming through, and he just didn‘t know how to fix what he’s broken.

While this is all going down, River started to panic. He’d never seen Hades cry before and he didn’t think that Hades would actually care enough to cry over him, so he tried to calm Hades down and they tried to talk things out. During this time, River admitted that his parents were part of the problem and not him entirely.

Once they were able to clear the air, River decided to give Hades another chance to start over as friends. Hades was absolutely determined to not lose River again, and so he tried even harder to be nice to him for their fresh start.

However, Hades was still bad at being nice and misfortune always showed up whenever he tried too hard. Hades didnt’t really feel or act like himself whenever he was forcing himself to be this super sweet person, but he thought that his real self would just push River away again, so he assumed that his real self wasn’t good enough.

This went on for a while, until finally, one day, River told Hades that it was okay to be him. It was okay for Hades to act like himself, he didn’t need to hold back or anything.

Things slowly began to be more okay again once Hades accepted that River wanted him for who he is, not who he thought he should be. He didn’t have to try being overly nice anymore, and they shared a relationship that was made up of softer teases (on Hades’ part) and better communication after that. They actually started to hang out more, they started getting along better, and eventually they started dating too.

Which was a surprise for Hades since he didn’t think that, after everything he had put River through, he would ever have his feelings reciprocated back.

However, River surprised him by making the first move. A couple weeks before their senior year could end, River almost got carried away and kissed Hades during an intimate moment.

Shortly after getting together, Hades and River graduated high school, moved in together in the Mu region for River’s nursing job, got married, and here they are now.

Other

Hades has a lot of interests. He likes video games, beatboxing, rap, and roller coaster rides, but he also likes cooking as well and does it enough to make a living. He was just inspired to make food one day when he saw a cooking show on TV as a kid.

Sometimes he likes to buy River old things from garage sales or thrift stores, just so his husband can tinker with them and build them into something useful again. He also tends to do River's laundry for him since River has a habit of forgetting that.

He actually has a Kappa cousin. His Zeta aunt from his mother’s side married a male Floss from the Kappa Clan, and as a result, since Candyfloss children take after their fathers in regards to what soul gem they’re born with, his cousin Esther is a Kappa. Esther is currently married to and lives with her Lambda husband in the Lambda Clan, so sometimes Hades will swing over there for vacay.
