Melati loves attention and she'll do anything to get attention. Hence why she makes things. Melati tinkers and builds all sorts of weird mechanical toys. Her ideas for her toys are bit too far out of the world but she makes do with what she got. She has a habit of macgyver-ing her problems, since she likes to do stuff till the very last minute. Melati also has a habit of trying to one up a person who dares steal her thunder because if she's in the room, attention gotta fall onto her. It's mostly harmless and fun games with her though.

Deep in Central Ridge was a simple family of sheep herders with 10 kids. Amid all the children was a small cream kebanzu who had a knack with fixing things. Or more correctly, destroy a functional thing and then rebuilding it again "better". It is better, just less practical. She's idealistic and is set to get her visions to life but she finds central ridge too slow and mellow to get her path started.
Once of age, she sets out to Ultraviolet Underground. There she learned many ways of the cybertech. But all the cybertech she learns simply meant for enhancements and upgrades. Melati didn't want to build up on existing things, she wanted to build things from scratch then tore it apart and build it again better all over again. When the nightly party city was just not her thing, she traveled far once more and finds herself stumbling upon Oil Slick's caravan. It was a wondrous party in his hub, and she chatted up with some kebs who came from another hub out in the desert. A mobile hub who needs someone who can build from scrap
Intrigued, Melati decides to join them. Only in the Junkyard does she finally found her place. She has all the freedom she needs to build and scrap and repeat all over. It lets her inventions go wild. The only downside of it for her however, is that she rarely leaves the hub. Always so focused on her work and getting things done, Melati ends up missing out on some outside world events.

Rose came to her flirting and she didn't even realise Melati was flirting back. It was a slow burn mutual pining. They're happy together now.
Not very trusting of her. They had a rough patch together, but now they mostly compete against each other on who can build the best thing.
