Profile
Well-known for his uncanny proficiency with knives and other miscellaneous sharp objects, and his skill for various arts — from photography and wood-carving to tattooing and scarification — Marshall has a very memorable personage among those familiar of him. More often than not, he’s also stupidly hyper. Years later and Ryan still won’t quit bitching about it, (though he loves his dumb-ass, anyway).
From a troubled orphaned kid to a (mostly) wiser adult, Marshall has endured through numerous events most others try not to think about. Coming from an abused history, an eight-year-old Marshall and his corgi, Cheeto, fled to the streets for safety, only to run into further difficulties at the hands of a young serial killer, known as the Skinner, in search of a protégé. Not old enough to understand, Marshall was groomed as a successor for the "profession". He and his dog traveled with this older child for two years until the straw broke the camel's back — in an attempt to sever emotional ties, his mentor killed his dog. A fearful, devastated Marshall ran away yet again, but this time, to another state, where his poor luck finally changed.
Through a failed pick-pocketing endeavor and strangers’ kindness, Marshall’s world turned inside-out. Owners of a hole-in-the-wall local flower shop, Greg and Flora, later to become Marshall’s papa and aunt, respectively, nursed him back to health with some assistance from close friends. After they patiently earned a once-wary and resentful Marshall’s trust, by his fourteenth birthday, Marshall eagerly agreed to be adopted by Greg. Since then, Marshall’s never left Greg or Flora’s side, and his family has grown beyond numbers.
Despite Marshall’s sheltered beginnings, thanks to help from his papa, he excelled in high school and entered college a year early. He scored a B.A. in Fine Arts, which he later used for his part-time employment as a tattoo and scarification artist. Thanks to the… unique knowledge gleaned from his time with the Skinner, Marshall also briefly served as an active field agent in a spec-ops organization — until one last encounter with the Skinner cost him both his right eye and job. However, once recovered and seeking grounding, Marshall soon became the next Art Professor at his graduate college, as well as maintained his part-time tattooing/scarifying profession.
Marshall ends up in a polyamorous marriage with three other partners (Ryan, Reisoku, and Dawn), and together, their rag-tag bunch raises four very happy, well-loved, spoiled kids. Marshall wouldn’t settle for anything less.
