Kissy is a rainbow giraffe; a gentle species defined by their bright, colourful markings, round noses, and unusual small size. Kissy is especially little, although she tends to be much bigger than a lot of the other animals living on Rainbow Pelago.

Kissy's most distintive features are her button nose, multicoloured mane, fluffy tail, and rainbow markings on her back and legs. Her eyes are brown with long, feathery eyelashes.

Kissy was born in a meadow filled with wildflowers. As a calf, Kissy was shy and reserved, and hated how much her colourful coat made her stand out amongst the other creatures in the meadow. Kissy was incredibly close to her mother, following her everywhere and rarely venturing out on her own. Due to this, she was often teased, and decided one day to explore the nearby jungle to prove herself. Quickly losing her sense of direction, Kissy got lost in the massive dense jungle and eventually after days of walking came across a small village. Exhausted. she collasped and was quickly aided by the villlagers who lived there, the tanookikis; smart, nimble, tree-climbing creatures. They showed her the way out of the jungle, but when she arrived back at the meadow her herd had gone. Seeing how heartbroken she was, the tanookiki's offered Kissy a home in their village, Figgyfern, to which she gratefully accepted.

They built her her own home which, of course, had to be much bigger than their smaller tree homes. Kissy learned to mash the fruits the tanookikis fetched from high up in the trees, and she would deliver them across the islands as a job. Kissy loved living with who she soon came to see as her new found family, and being accepted helped her to love her bright-coloured coat. Kissy’s job takes her all over the pelago, and of course she meets many different faces and has a friend on every island. Kissy often thinks about her herd, especially her mother, and wonders if they're still out there somewhere.
