Hikari was born in Ferncombe, spending her childhood at her mother's side. Her mother, a well-known midwife at the time, was always on the go, but Hikari never minded, the adrenaline and excitement of bringing new life into the world worth a few days away from the comfort of her bed. With Hikari's mother being a single mother, Hikari really didn't have a choice but to go with her anyway, sometimes being away from home for weeks on end when her mom was needed. Despite always traveling, Hikari loved it, always excited to meet the new additions to people's families and share in the joy and happiness it brought. Despite the positive connotations when it came to midwifing, Hikari was inevitably met with the concept of morality, learning to not only share in excitement but also sorrow when confronted with loss. She learned quickly what it truly meant to nurture and comfort another person, which prepared her greatly for her own sorrows when they unfortunately arrived. One night, Hikari's mother was called out to deliver a baby during a terrible storm, forcing Hikari to stay while she went alone to do so. Sadly, the winds and proven too severe, causing Hikari's mother to perish in a terrible car accident on the way back from the delivery. It was then that Hikari had first experienced what it was like to be an orphan herself and vowed to do everything she could to be even half of the woman her mother was.

Hikari struggled in school after her mother's passing, unable to process her grief properly. Thankfully for the young girl, her small village assisted her in whatever way they could, supporting her even when she was at her lowest. Though despite the obstacles, Hikari made it through school, graduating and moving on to trade school where she decided to follow the same path her mother had. She excelled in the craft, earning her degree and stepping out into the field immediately. At present, she still works as a midwife in her hometown, enjoying every second of it, both the wins and the losses. Through all of these experiences, she has never once regretted her path, and only hopes that her mother is looking on with pride.
