- Azalea is a rather quiet, introverted woman. Despite this, she is a great speaker and is great at bringing people together. Azalea has somewhat of a motherly quality about her, and is very loving towards everyone, especially those in need. She is strong, and more than willing to put the needs of others before her own, to a unhealthy point. She naturally gravitates towards people in rough situations, often going out of her way to help those she feels who need it most.
- When she was younger, Azalea was a lot more hot-headed and quick to agitate. Though, as she's gotten older, this trait has almost gone away completely.
- Appearance
- Azalea is short, easily the smallest champion in Kalos's history. Despite being tiny, she often uses this to her advantage, and is amazing in combat. Often, she depends on her staff as almost as a third limb more than she does a weapon, using it to maneuver.
- Azalea can grow plantlife from any part of her body. She normally always has one flower in her hair, solely because she thinks its cute. Though she can control most of her plantgrowth, Azalea has started to grow moss and small leaves on her chest, shoulders, and legs- the process uncontrollable, much like body hair. This is pretty common for her species, so she doesnt mind it.
- Azalea has a horrible spinal-chord injury that has been getting worse and impairing her movement as she ages.
- Backstory
- Azalea grew up in a pretty healthy household despite the war taking place. She was raised by a single mother, and was very close with her friends. Azalea's life was decently unremarkable until the neighborhood band of kids teamed together to form the Kanto3 rebellion group, and take on league.
- Azalea was probably the most realistic out of both Aerik and Juniper, seeing the war for what it was. Though this period of the kanto3 is often romanticized, Azalea doesnt look back all too fondly of it, the only thing that Azalea can remember with fondness is that of her friends. Azalea was very dedicated to her cause and fought hard to change the war in Kalos.
- After the fight with Dryas, Azalea was left crippled. Aerik abandoning his position as champion, Azalea took it within herself to become champion despite her injuries. With Leohne's help, she made her way to the throne and became champion.
- Though Azalea is still somewhat bitter over her position as champion due to her terrible injury and Aerik's incompetence, she has found peace after the war. Azalea is regarded as one of the greatest champion's in Kalos's history. She has successfully defended her position as champion for twenty years despite her injury, and has gotten married.
- NameAerik and Juniper
- Azalea shared a fondness with Aerik and Juniper that she knows she will never have with anyone, ever again. The three were like a family, it was said that they brought out the best in one another . Azalea was fiercely protective of her two closest friends. Azalea thought of Aerik like a little brother, and though she chastised him often for his mistakes, she did it out of love for him, and worry for his wellbeing. Juniper, on the other hand, was Azalea's sense of reason and a strong , optimistic figure that Azalea looked to for support often.
- After Juniper's death, Azalea grew incredibly hateful and bitter towards Aerik, not even wanting to speak the man's name. She feels although Aerik betrayed her trust by not keeping a promise they all made together, and threw Juniper's sacrifice away like it was nothing. Azalea can't bare to think about him, but still looks back on the early kanto3 period with a longing to see her friends again.
- Name Leohne
- Leohne is Azalea's only friend left over from the kanto3 . He is the only active reminder of that time in her life, and she considers him her closest friend. Though they were never terribly close during the kanto3 period, they bonded through their shared trauma, coping and moving on together. Azalea greatly looks forward to Leohne's visits, and holds Leohne in high respect.
