Roz's Links
Isaac and Roz are close friends, both being apart of the friend group: the Scapegraces. They share a dorm room and are constantly doing bizarre things and playing strange games. Their dynamic can seem peculiar to other people because of their questionable jokes and attitude towards each other. Roz trusts Isaac with all his heart, but in the future he may grow a bit wary of him due to how he is treated during Isaac's girl troubles. Though right now, Roz greatly looks up to Isaac for his incredible personality, loyalty, and sportsmanship. He values his presence very much. Oh, and Roz will definitely never forgive Isaac for frequently creating such horrific abominations with food.
Isaac and Roz are the most unalike. The former's boisterous and reckless behavior directly collides with Roz's polite, mature, and modest personality. Their backgrounds are also incredibly different, with Isaac coming from an average Muggle family and Roz coming from a wealthy pure-blood family.
They often confuse each other with their bizarre behavior. Isaac struggles to understand how Roz can be so mild-mannered and studious, and Roz expresses distress whenever Isaac involves him in his chaotic situations as well as confusion whenever Isaac teases Isla about a certain crush in front of him. However, Roz's calm and gentle personality helps contain Isaac (and Isla's) rowdiness, as well as serves as a much-needed peacemaker whenever there is banter.
Despite their staggering differences, they like spending time together and teaching the other about their hobbies. Roz does his best to educate Isaac on proper cooking (which is hopeless) and Isaac tries to get Roz into Quidditch (which is also hopeless). Regardless, they respect and support each other's passions even if they don't completely understand them. Roz always displays kindness to Isaac even when Isaac makes mistakes.
However, in their middle years, Roz grows wary of Isaac's growing aggressiveness, and Isaac becomes skeptical of Roz's loyalty to the Scapegraces. He is insecure about the fact that Roz is choosing to dedicate more time to his studies instead of hanging out. In addition, Roz's growing friendship with their classmate Harvey Mitchell makes Isaac feel jealous. Isaac frets that the possible reason could be that Roz is beginning to find him annoying and not worthy of friendship when in reality, Roz still trusts him all the same. Roz is completely oblivious to Isaac's sudden petty and immature behavior towards him and continues to remain on friendly terms with the other Scapegraces.
Roz adores Marina! He finds great admirable qualities in how she goes about her life despite being deaf. To him, she's basically a smaller (,,,,only in age good lord) Isla that's a lot more loud. He probably subconsciously babies her out of a protective instinct even though she's not THAT much younger than him.
Isla and Roz are close friends, both being apart of the friend group: the Scapegraces. When Roz first met Isla, he found her to be very difficult to talk to. Ironically, now he considers her his best friend, someone he feels at ease with, and someone who he'd give the absolute world to. Originally out of worry for her spending her breaks and holidays alone or unhappily, Roz began inviting her over to his home when school was out. Soon it became a tradition to spend time together during the breaks whenever they could. Isla introduced him to countless muggle hobbies, interests, items that he had no real knowledge on, and they had fun every step of the way. Isla has always been there for him whenever he needed it, and he's very thankful for that. He's also really happy whenever Isla describes her enjoyment with his cooking. In the past, whenever Isla called him a midget, he was very defensive and upset about it. But as time went on, the nickname kind of grew on him and he was pretty used to it. Roz does feel a bit sad whenever Isla claims she needs makeup to look pretty or other additions of the sort, as he thinks she's fine as is. Even though he's not against makeup or anything, it was just that in his heart, he really wanted her to have the self-confidence she deserved. These simple wants and their silly friendship slowly turned his feelings into something more; though he never really realizes it until far later on. He begins to display actions that he himself does not understand, but in reality it was due to his feelings for her. That included being strangely protective of her, accepting things she liked without hesitation even when he disliked them, finding her really pretty, etc. Sometime after the arranged marriage with October is announced, he realizes these feelings and desperately strives to find a way to get out of it and explain to Isla.
When they're young, Isla views Roz as her midget best friend. She is quite fond of teasing him, but it's her way of showing her care for him. She often teases him for his height and the fact he can't climb trees. But despite her constant teasing, there's a lot of affection she won't show people. Isla has a strong admiration for Roz's intelligence and his ability to keep his pride in check. But since Isla can be a bit of a tsundere, she wouldn't tell him that unless he needed to hear it. She is also notably over-protective of him, and she would defend him verbally and physically without hesitation. Isla is convinced Roz is an amazing person, and no one can tell her otherwise. She also notably has a deep appreciation for him for not only being her best friend but also for allowing her to stay at his place during the breaks. Isla feels safer and calmer when he's around, so she's naturally drawn to spending more time with him. She loves getting to do stuff with him that he's never done before (such as letting him climb trees, wear high heels, etc.) and also taking the opportunity to learn from him as well. Isla is also marveled by his cooking skills, and she adores his style. She will often find herself complaining she's hungry to him just so he'll make something for her to munch on.
When Isla is older, her feelings remain unchanged other than the fact she becomes more romantically attracted to him. Her loyalty to him would have grown much stronger, and she would throw herself in the way of danger to make sure he's safe. Although she has romantic feelings, Isla will not force anything on him. She simply wishes for Roz' happiness, and if that's with her as nothing more than his best friend, Isla is okay with it.
Niklas is Roz's younger brother. Being the only family member that still supported Roz, Niklas was an incredibly important presence for Roz's mental well-being. Of course Roz also loved Niklas incredibly much, and would always send letters and see him whenever he could despite being far away. During his 4th year in Hogwarts when Niklas stopped responding to him, he grew really worried. However instead of something bad having happened to Niklas, in his 5th year Niklas arrived at Hogwarts among the other firsties much to Roz's surprise. He had assumed he would attend Durmstrang, following their parents plans. Niklas berates Roz and Roz is left having his trust and emotions shattered.
Roz is Niklas's older brother. Niklas greatly looked up to Roz as a role model. He had always thought of him as the coolest person ever! When their parents sent him away, he didn't understand why and retained his opinion. Every letter was something he looked forward to, and seeing his brother was an even greater pleasure. As time went on, their parents began putting more pressure on Niklas to overcome Roz's failure. During Roz's 4th year, their parents had started getting rid of the letters Roz sent before Niklas could read them. They also did not allow Roz to visit them anymore. They went as far as to contact Hogwarts to get Niklas admission there instead of Durmstrang to prove how much he could best Roz in academics. Upon Niklas's arrival, he was so far gone from his original mentality and persona that he berates Roz and breaks his wand.
Harvey is currently just a friend to Roz, but later on, he becomes one of his close friends, and the person to help him turn his life around. They would collaborate in their future career.
