The lab that she was working for created a teleporter that was malfunctioning and giving its users mutations that turned them into savage monsters. The lab staff decided that all the infected people should be dropped off on their old testing site - a small island. Carol continued to work for the lab for a few years after this incident. Then, the last few survivors from the island managed to contact the lab and arrange a trade in which they would get mutation slowing medicine in exchange for a person that mutated in a way that gold grew on him. The lab agreed and wanted to speed up his mutation to research the golden gene which would most likely kill the test subject, and her scientist friend Neil decided to help the test subject escape. Carol got on board because Neil and Aurum (the test subject) were extremely bad at escaping and needed a hand. She ended up losing her job and running to the island with them, where she met other survivors that didn't turn into monsters yet. Neil managed to duplicate mutation slowing medicine for them which bought them some time to live.
Almost a year later a stranger named Kell came to the island looking for his friend - Louis. Kell wanted to illegally bring Louis back to the city, but Louis only agreed on the condition that Kell will help all of the island people get back as well. After they went back to the city they had no choice but to live in the part of the city that was basically ruled by bandits. These bandits also stole the teleporter which was used to bring them back to the city. Island people tried to get the teleporter back from the bandits which resulted in a fight which resulted in teleporter exploding and spreading mutation radiation on the whole city. Neil went back to the lab that he used to work in to tell the staff that they need to do something about the radiation, but instead he was arrested. Carol, Louis and Kell broke him out of the lab's custody and somehow managed to lead the guards to the teleporter remains and explain the situation. Then the lab agreed to make meds that will stop the mutation completely and all of the island survivors were allowed to go back to the city oficially. After that she didn't want to try to get her old job back so she became a strip club guard instead.
Neil
Good Friend
Carol and Neil know each other since middle school. She used to bully him but eventually became his friend. She used to get Neil in trouble a lot, and probably still does sometimes.

A creature that was created in the lab she used to work in. L-WAV and Carol are very chaotic together, they have the same kind of dark humor and urge to annoy people with weird shit. They usually hang out with Neil and Louis too.

Ex Coworker
Taon used to work as a guard at the same lab as Carol. He had a totally obvious secret crush on Carol, but she disliked working with him and having to talk with him. Conversations with him were always awkward.
Raptor
Friend
Raptor is one of the people that she met on the island. He's in advanced state of mutation and his brain is fried. He acts like a 9 year old but also does a lot of funny things, so Carol likes to hang out with him from time to time. Can be annoying sometimes though.
