Character

History

Faolán war born and raised in Ireland among the Sídhe of North Munster, ruled over by a Queen by the name of Aoibhinn. Since the fae reside in Tir Na Nog, his contact with the human world was very limited for a long time, only being allowed out when tasked to help with the Wild Hunt or to bring some unfortunate soul back to his masters. Around the time the Second World War ended, Faolán found himself trapped by a farmer, who chained him to a sturdy iron pole out in his yard to keep bad spirits away. He remained trapped there for three decades until the farmer was accidentally killed by a vampire called Edward, who then released him and nursed the Dog back to health.

The Lost Years

Upon returning to his usual entrance to Tir Na Nog, he found the path sealed off to him and confused, betrayed and immensely saddened he travelled around Ireland in search of an alternative gateway. Finding none, he eventually left the Emerald Island and roamed around Europe in search of a way back to his home. He travelled with Ed for about ten years before life decided to send them off in different directions, and Fáo returned to Ireland for a few years. That's where he ran into Benedic Vulpekula for the first time, and the Kitsune followed him around for two years before heading off on his own, Faolán deciding to leave Ireland once more in search of answers and a way back home. So far he has not found one, but with promises of help with his search in exchange for his assistance, he's joined up with the Silver Fish in Prague.

Abilities

Faolán generally depends on brute force when he's got to defend himself, usually after having drank too much and gotten on someone's nerves. He doesn't really have the best form, being a simple brawler, so anyone with actual fighting experience would most likely be able to take him down if he doesn't play dirty and blind them with Faerie Fire.

While his tracking skills aren't as powerful outside of his canine form, he is still pretty formidable at following scents and seeing in the dark. However, the scent needs to be fairly fresh and in complete darkness he tends to bump into things a lot.

In Cú Sídhe form, he is about as big as a young bull and pitch black. True to his species he is completely silent while on the hunt, only giving three bone-chilling barks as warning before he sets off after his prey. He can't speak while in this form and shifting tends to be a rather tedious ordeal, what with bones breaking and reforming and such, so he only does it when absolutely necessary.

While shapeshifted he is incredibly fast, and brutishly strong, and once he's got his sights set on something he will hunt it down or die trying. He can use Faerie Fire in this shape too, but usually doesn't need to since he prefers to hunt alone. Other than that, a bite or a scratch from a Cú Sídhe tends to feel like an excruciating burning sensation, rather than the normal bite or scratch of a dog.

Other than that he's deathly allergic to iron and will avoid it at all costs. If he comes into contact with it it will burn him like acid and if exposed to enough for a long enough time he will die. As he's already been exposed to it he's built up a slight tolerance.
