Vlad Kurtz

Vladmir was born in the providences of Zathurek City with his father, mother and 2 brothers. All of who are unnamed. His father was a drug addict who constantly overdosed on pills to settle down his mental issues. After accidentally taking a pill that caused him to go crazy, he killed Vlad's mother and two other brothers, and the father was then taken to a mental hospital. After the incident, Vlad was taken by the police to an orphanage to be taken cared of. This orphanage was called Wafbaurm 54 (this sector was reserved for male humanoids only). It also doubled as a child labor factory, where orphaned children would be forced to assemble weapons and mine ores. In turn, they were provided food and shelter by the headmasters for their free labor. However, the conditions of the orphanage were horrific. Children would be punished severely if they did not cooperate or were not being productive. Serious work accidents were a common occurrence and some children were even put to death if they became unable to work.

This "factory" is where Vlad meets the first Dark Sider member and his future servant, Keith. They met after he scared off some bullies that were teasing Keith about being a stereotypical "googlehead", which is a common insult to "steampunkers" in Zathurek. Keith had previously heard of Vlad's technological prowess throughout the factory and was incredibly impressed by his skills. This is where Keith proposed to Vlad that he wanted to become his apprentice so that he could learn how to build impressive mechanical inventions like him. They soon became the best of friends. Before going crazy and losing his empathy, Vlad was quite a friendly and helpful young lad. He cared a lot for his only friend, Kieth. He loved playing and building things with him, as well as covering for him when his machines failed during weaponry checks. Even though he did tease him once in a while, thier bond of friendship was very stong.

A few years later, the torments from Vlad's peers and the slave labor worsened. It got to a point were Vlad personality started changing drastically. He became more agressive, his insults to Keith got worse and his "goals" became more outrageous. He felt like the factory was oppressing him and hindering his talents, which in a way it was. But he also felt that he should not be controlled by anyone and that HE should be the one controlling the factory. This is where he got the idea to rebel against the headmasters and Keith brought up the idea of a rebellion club, which Vlad then changed into an organization that would later become the Dark Siders. Although they weren't sucessful in recruiting anyone, Vlad became a juvenile delinquent and caused mayhem all over the factory, while Kieth took the fall, and his control and abuse towards Keith got worse.

At age 12, Vlad created a fully functioning mecha that he would use to prove to the headmasters that he was the most superior person in the factory and that he should be the top dog. After The Dean talked him down, Vlad blew up and began his evil reign of terror, marking the start of the Dark Siders. While dragging Keith along for the ride, Vlad completely destroyed the Wafbaurm 54 with his rampaging mecha along with everyone in it. The only survivor was a fellow factory worker named Dex, who meets Vlad later in the future. Vlad and Keith were then caught by Zathurekian police and sent to a mental instition for the criminally insane. Vlad was sent to solitary confinement whereas Keith was sent to a more minor part of the facility. This is where Vlad started to grow crazy, and lost all sense of empathy whatsoever. He also underwent shock therapy to help calm him down. This is where he began stealing items that would help him plan his escape. He stole brain growth hormones to help him gain more knowledges and coming up with new ideas. He also stole materials and melted them down to create his secret weapon. Vlad and Keith were stuck in the mental institution for about 2 years until Vlad managed to break out by, you guessed it, another mecha rampage.

After Vlad destoyed the entire institute, Keith threatened to leave him, but Vlad used his manipulating skills to make him stay. He especially touched on thier childhood days and the stong friendship they once had. They then set out to make the Dark Siders grow by finding more people to recruit and causing as much chaos as possible.
