LEmelle Woods, the birthplace of magic and wonder, is not only home to the largest variety of fireflies in the region, but also to some of the few freshwater mermaids left in existence. Kyrie was one of the far and few, her parent raising her in the most secluded areas of the forest and teaching her the ways of her kind. As one of the very last freshwater mermaids in existence, she would be tasked with the important duty to gather the souls of those who have passed and send them upward into the sky, her lullaby guiding them to the heavens and turning them into stars, where they remain vigilant over their loved ones for eternity. There would be no interaction with any form of life until said life's very end, which was instilled in Kyrie from a very young age- yet, the young girl's curiosity soon got the better of her. Kyrie wanted nothing more than to create connections with the many facets of life, despite her parents' warnings. getting the young girl into enough trouble that she was to undergo more training before being entrusted with her lifelong profession.
By the time she was ready enough to take on the task, she vowed to herself to make her parents proud, trying her best to do her job and nothing more, guiding tired spirits to the afterlife and calling it a day. However, her tune once again changed after a chance encounter with a young mute swan, who she had the pleasure of befriending, despite the harsh rules placed upon her kind. She watched as her dear friend lived his life, starting his own family and ultimately growing old. The moment she was to guide his spirit to the afterlife was when it hit her- the rules set in place were to protect her heart from the hurt that loss brought with it. Even though the pain from her grief was seemingly overwhelming, she realized just how meaningful love and life were, surrendering herself to the cycle of love and loss. She soon rescinded from her post after her dear friend's death, making it her sole mission to life live and experience every aspect of beauty and hardship it had to offer. At present, Kyrie is living the way she had always wanted, making her friends and making the most of every second with them.

Kyrie loves singing, though she isn't the best at it. It comes with the territory of her origin.
Due to her lineage, she tends to stick to areas close to freshwater sources, but if she finds herself quite far from that resource, her friends like to soak her with the garden hose.
Her favorite thing is seeing rainbows and shooting stars.
She loves underwater races, as she knows she will win each time.
Kyrie is very emotional, and tends to feel the effects of happiness and grief a lot more than others seem to.

Best Friend
Kyrie, being a freshwater mermaid gone rogue, and Jorunna, a lover of aquatic creatures makes for a unique and qurky friendship. Upon revealing her origins to Jorunna, Kyrie subjected herself to a whirlwind of questions and attempted experiments, much to Kyrie's and Lumira's chagrin. The two try their best to remind Jorunna that Kyrie is just like them (even if Lumira thinks Kyrie is a phenomenon as well).
Best Friend
Kyrie met Lumira at the same time she met Jorunna, and the couple immediately became enamored with Kyrie. Jorunna and Lumira's passion for both marine creatures and cool organisms made them quite the force to be reckoned with, barraging Kyrie with question after question. Lumira thankfully knows about personal space and is there to bring Jorunna back down from her forceful behaviors and remind her that even mermaids have boundaries too. Despite the craziness, the three of them enjoy spending time together and hope to show Kyrie just how to make the most of life and it's wonders.
Best Friend
From their very beginnings, due to Mei's ancestry, the two had always been connected; Mei, daughter of mother earth and all of creation, and Kyrie, an extension of such creation. From the moment to two locked eyes one fateful day in Alvarna, they knew immediately just how intertwined their lives were. The two met up later that night in Emelle Woods, talking about their struggles and growing closer with each small conversation topic. It was during this that Kyrie truly began to understand the weight Mei carried with her, the young Creator struggling with the demands of nature and the pain of the world's creatures. It gave Kyrie deeper respect for Mei, and the mermaid does her best to try and relieve and comfort Mei every moment she can. Mei is thankful for this, and though the calls of nature beckon her to the point of physical and mental exhaustion, she knows Kyrie will be there to provide support and comfort.
