Since it had first opened its eyes, Shade had always been a joyous being that had so much love for the world around him. He had been through hell and back spending his childhood to adolescence on Earth, and still after everything, there was nothing that could deter him from caring for humans and others.
He struggles a lot with his own self image, unsure of what he wants to be for himself or others, but he knows for certain what he doesn't want to be.

He was specifically designed to be the most powerful Devalin- created with every advantage the species could think of for an individual. However, his birth led to a power struggle, and the populace demanded a serum to be drawn from his blood. Instead, his father sent him away, where Shade had then spent half his life on Earth.
PARENTS?
Initially, Shade was sent into space with two devalin escorts, but enroute to Earth they had been intercepted by the rivaling species; zemotan. Shade still made it to Earth, but was then instead placed under the care of Heliathus, a warrior from planet Eriltha. Originally tasked to erase project Shadeyenova, Heliathus found himself qiuckly fond of the child instead, and raised it as his own.
