Also known as 'Pearlnnuid!'

Once upon a time, a young elven man named Aesaelion Tathviel chased the elusive ghosts of his family's tumultuous history... and found himself harried by a literal specter, the legendary singing ghost, Sinne-Othuul. It warned him ceaselessly and very terrifyingly to stop what he was doing, because-- 'beware, Speaker, for the more you learn of your family's sorrowful past, the more the past will wake.'

As he delved deeper into the fragments of ill-documented history, Aesaelion realized: the dangerous heretic priest, who had once proclaimed the divine glory of a dark beast until his abrupt vanishing - and the ghost, who cried out songs of love, poisoned and betrayed - were one and the same. He Spoke to the ghost: I know who you were. Who you are. Live, again, and help mend the lives that have been torn apart in your name.

For three days and three nights, he Spoke. The wraith wailed and raged, and moreover, listened. And from the Words his body was remade. And from the Words, his blood began again to flow.

Rennuid Tathviel woke from a long, fragmented dream, that had begun a millennium ago on the day he died. A young elven man stood before him, whom he had never met, and yet from some vague pieces he knew.

"Hello, Uncle Rennuid," Aesaelion said in like, the most fucked up 'oh god I've been talking too long' voice ever.

And so they went on an adventure together! To break a curse! It went -- uh, well, the important part is they succeeded.

Rennuid didn't... really know what to do with himself, afterward. The beast he had let lay claim to far more than just his soul would finally never hurt his family again. He thought, this world, I've only made it more tarnished.  Now that I've ended what I began, is it right to stay?

(Of course, it would have been right. It wasn't his fault, the way he'd always carried it to be. But his feelings and the truth are things that have often been at odds.)

...What he ended up doing, after stealing away from the eyes of his family, friends... was cast himself into something known as the 'Abyss of Ink.'

The bounds of that world parted, and he met another.

...Rennuid Tathviel came upon the Pearl Sovereignty, and then, into the king's court. He found himself, in time, seated across from the king in his highness's private chambers, wherein they played a friendly match of chess.
