Both of her parents died in a car accident a few years ago, and so she lives with her Grandpa. Since he's very old, she often is taking care of him and the house instead of the other way around. She had promised to her parents before she started high school that she would do really well and get all A's because she didn't do well in middle school. However, now that they're gone and she's struggling in school, she feels like a disappointment. On the verge of failing her classes, she signed up for a program that pairs students with a mentor, a graduate from the school.

Kit and Ashley became friends when Ashley was a senior and Kit was a junior. Kit was bummed out when she graduated, but they still hang out and talk.

Fern [ Mentor ]

Fern is the mentor she's paired with through her school's mentor program. He helps her study and get better grades, but also becomes the main target for her antics. Eventually, they develop a familial relationship, and he becomes like a second father to her.

Zev's her girlfriend. They like to go on bike rides together and cause chaos.
