riley and anachou are friends with benefits, and two of the leaders of the resistance group. at first, anachou disliked riley, but still needed him to stay with him in order to make use of his translating abilities. so, he reeled back his violent tendencies just enough so that riley wasn't too repulsed. anachou isn't too enthusiastic about rileys continued attempts at a less superficial friendship, but maybe deep down he wishes that he could open up to someone again, so he never shuts down riley entirely. if nothing else, they are bonded together in their dislike of monstrucatus. anachou accepted rileys proposal of “benefits” to their relationship, viewing it as simply another way to blow off steam that isn't nearly as destructive as his usual habits.
anachou somewhat envies riley’s carefree attitude. he doesn't necessarily want to be as light and flippant himself, but on some level he wishes he could let go of caring about the constant running and hiding thats become a staple of his life. he wishes riley would take things just a bit more seriously at times, seeing as anachou feels like their plans to take down monstrucatus are advancing at a snails pace.
riley and anachou are friends with benefits, and two of the leaders of the resistance group. at first, riley was simply trying to be polite to anachou in hopes that the eel would eventually stop being so prickly towards him, but eventually accepted that anachou is just Like That towards everyone. as they spent more time together, they eventually reached an alliance, both being against monstrucatus’s research methods. the benefits part of their relationship came about as riley (somewhat jokingly) suggesting it as a way for anachou to blow off steam. anachou took it seriously. riley isn’t mad about it.
riley thinks anachou is extensively guarded, and wishes he would relax more around others. he appreciates that anachou is determined to an almost dangerous edge, and when pointed in the right direction, is a veritable wrecking ball.
anachou and masame are each others bitterest rivals, and closest friends. having met her when anachou was totally, utterly alone, he attached quickly to her, despite it being a relationship geared mostly around fighting each other. for anachou, that type of violence was all he knew, and perhaps unconsciously he assumed that all friendships needed it. regardless, masame took to it, and the two were locked in as rivals, and friends, in a strange sort of way. more than a few times they've ended up patching the other up after a particularly fierce battle.
anachou hates masame and what she stands for- peace and justice in the world. to him, peace is boring and justice is never dealt fairly. at the same time, he respects that she's as reckless with her body as he is with his, and appreciates having a skilled fighter to go against. now that she's locked away in monstrucatus, anachou feels a sense of longing and grief that he's not sure how to deal with.
masame and anachou are each others bitterest rivals, and closest friends. masame met anachou while she was in the middle of figuring out her life, and wanting to stop him gave her an anchor point. she took delight in the fact that they are equally matched, and used that to motivate herself to redouble her efforts at getting stronger. somewhere along the way masame realized that she didn’t necessarily want to stop anachou, seeing as his violent impulses were now redirected at her rather than random civilians, which was her main beef in the first place. she hasn’t fully processed that, though.
masame doesn’t genuinely hate anachou, more so she hates his actions. she’s come to believe that anachou’s violence doesn’t come from a place of malice, but rather from stress and frustration. she’s perfectly fine as serving as someone for him to redirect that violence to. now that she’s been locked away in monstrucatus, she’s coming to terms that fighting with anachou on a regular basis stabilized her more than she was aware.
anachou and seo-hyun are two of the leaders of the resistance. anachou to some extent feels a kinship with seo-hyun, seeing as she's as purposefully off putting and prickly as he is. seeing as she cannot see, and he cannot speak, their communication is limited to whenever riley can mediate between them. as such, they haven't talked much outside of things related to advancing the resistance's plans, but that suits them both fine. with riley being as outgoing and loud as he is, anachou appreciates seo-hyun as someone he can go to for peace and quiet, in the rare moments he craves that.
anachou appreciates that seo-hyun can buckle down and fixate on the tasks that he finds boring. he dislikes that she works slowly, but considering that she has a metaphorical eye for detail he assumes she just takes extra time to review her work.
seo-hyun and anachou are two of the leaders of the resistance. seo-hyun would not admit it, but sometimes she feels like she understands anachou more than any other member of the resistance. she knows that riley tamps down anachou’s speech through the cyborg’s translation, but still gets a gist of the monster’s personality, and relates to being prickly and standoffish. their communication is limited since riley can’t see and anachou can’t speak, but the two often spend time together in complete silence whenever one of them needs quiet.
seo-hyun admires anachou’s brute strength and recklessness, and wishes she could cultivate some level of strength in herself. she does dislike that he has a short fuse, and wishes he would learn to regulate his emotions somewhat, like how she does.
anachou and nashira are acquainted through the resistance group. anachou doesn't interact with much due to the language barrier, leaving most of the information gathering to riley. the few times that anachou has interacted with nashira, he was as cold and prickly as ever. he views her as being as overbearing and friendly as riley, but at least he doesn't have to come in contact with her much. he has a respect for the information gathering she does for the group, and that's as far as any fond feelings go.
[tba with nashira rewrite]
nashira and anachou are acquainted. nashira has tried to befriend anachou several times, but the language barrier and the fact that anachou is just generally intolerant of others makes it near impossible. she's still trying.
