Arc and Gabe met on a business trip a couple of years ago when Arc was attempting to sell his family’s weapons. Most of their time spent together during that trip was filled with small talk or business talk, but their conversations left Arc wondering how someone as soft as Gabe could be involved in the arms business. They kept in contact (for business reasons), occasionally sending emails and talking on the phone until one rainy night, Kami (with Arc in tow) turned up on Gabe’s apartment doorstep after Arc’s family discovered his sexuality. Having nowhere else to go or no-one else to turn to, Arc is eternally grateful to Gabe for taking a chance and allowing him to stay on that day. While he still considers Gabe to be too soft for his own good, Arc views it now with more bemusement than anything else. He is still adjusting to life out in the open and with someone else, but he is appreciative of Gabe’s patience with him and all his quirks.
At first, Arc was just a roommate for Gabe. But as an overly friendly guy, Gabe soon grew close with Arc eventually forming a relationship. He vaguely knows about Arc's troubled past but believes he is good at heart.
Keiko was a match arranged for Arc (after years of resistance) by his mother so the family would have a way in with Keiko’s family to do business. Arc feels particularly guilty about going through with the marriage as he knows it was unfair to Keiko who was an innocent bystander caught up in his family’s sinister machinations. He knows she’s a kind soul who deserves better than to be involved with him, though this leads him to being petrified that she’ll revoke his access to their daughter, Yua.
Arc and Kami have known each other for a long time and, as much as he would hate to admit it, Kami is one of the very few people who know what Arc is really like having seen him at his highest highs and lowest lows. It doesn’t mean that the two are best buddies however, as Arc finds Kami incredibly annoying, especially his overly energetic mannerisms and seeming lack of self control. He does have a smidgen of respect for Kami’s physical prowess though and his ability to come out of even the most perilous situations unscathed.
Kami and Arc have a strange relationship; while Arc is a representative of the people who keep Kami in involuntary servitude and has undoubtedly profited from it, he has never had the same attitude as the rest of his family when dealing with Kami. Kami takes this as a sign that he is one of the few people that Arc likes and allows his more jovial and silly nature to come through. This is mostly an attempt to cheer Arc up, as Kami actually feels sorry for him.
