Blunt and awkward

Ocho is an astrolyte with very poor social skills and a love for technology. They currently live in a car they found rusting in the middle of Aitsua. They're obsessed with breaking and fixing electronics and trying to find technological reasons for magic.

History

Ocho hatched in the Aitsuan Lampery, The Hole.
They grew up breaking and fixing lampery items. They weren't the most receptive individual, and as a result didn't have very many friends. They were much too obsessed with their dangerously electrical toys to conversate with the other lytes. However, upon meeting Radio, a lyte who had a similar affinity for technology instead of small talk, Ocho made their first - and best - friend.

They were swept up in the "first" Solar Submergence as a lavaling. They trusted the scientist they followed into the woods, but had no idea what horrors awaited them there. They don't fully understand what happened that October, but whenever the moons eclipse, they become extremely paranoid and restless.

They're living in a rusty car they claimed as a home and surviving as a somewhat functioning adult.

Personality

Ocho is not a social butterfly, to put it gently. They're quite bad at interacting with other astrolytes and struggle to relate to them emotionally. But they're still kind and helpful when they can be, even if they totally lose track of social cues and picking up hints. They're creative and innovative, though. They work well when they're in their engineering element and love messing with technology. Whenever they get their hands on a new piece of important tech, they have to resist the urge to destroy it to see how it works. Because the goal is to learn how to put it back together. But it's not like they're an expert.

Appearance

Ocho is a quite awkward looking hopper, often slouching over or trying too hard to lean upright to see correctly. They have lamps on their hooves and palm pads, their horns, outside of their ears, cheeks, and the tip of their tail. These glow a bright yellow shade. Ocho suffers from Waterbreather's Wrath and has unnaturally appearing gills stretching down their neck, torso, shoulders, and thighs which ooze when irritated.
