Setting
⇀ Up Until Now
The US saw a shift in its democracy and justice system around 2030. People around the country were being arrested on unknown accounts and weren't to be seen again. Deputies assured that prisoners were safe and were going to be given a fair trial but none ever occurred. Resistance groups were quickly put down and civil rights slowly stripped.
In late 2031, the symptoms of a new disease showed itself. The iris's in people's eyes began to fade and blend into the sclera, many reported hallucinations and being unable to control impulses. Conspiracies floated around that the government had created this virus to weaken the American people and their ability to resist the government.
In 2032, elections were held for a new President of the United States. A compassionate leader vowing to solve America's corrupt government was elected into office with such popularity that all the candidate needed to do was stay alive to get elected. The new President worked hard to fix the state of the government but as the weeks went by, their eagerness was fading. They seemed to be less ambitious to pass laws fixing the rights stripped from citizens during the previous years. They seemed to interact with the press and the people less, and whenever they were seen, they seemed dazed. The vivid confidence that had once lit their eyes had faded. The bills given to them for the people's rights were getting vetoed now. The people were confused and devastated that their president, who so compassionately vowed to help the American people, was now turning against them. Nobody in the government seemed to be interested in helping the people.
Resistance built up but was always violently put down and discouraged. Anyone suspected of being in a resistance group was arrested suddenly and disappeared without a trace. The disease became more widespread. Any research devoted to the disease was defunded immediately, which raised suspicion among the people. Symptoms seemed to be getting worse, seeming almost rabies-like. The disease had eaten away at some people's irises entirely, leaving an empty white eye left. They seemed out of it entirely, compliant to any command given to them, no matter how violent or self-detrimental. ~
Personality
⇀ Description
At first, Brook comes off as being rude. She tends to be standoffish and intolerant of any behavior she doesn't see as appropriate. She's bold enough that she will tell a stranger off for doing something she doesn't like. She's very particular on the way everything has to be done; efficient, neat, and orderly. She comes off as an overbearing mother to those around her. She enforces strict rules with little leniency. If someone breaks those rules or acts out, she goes into a screaming fit and scolds the violator. While she has no outright harmful intentions, but her aggressive behaviors have lost her a good number of friends and makes it difficult to make new ones. She only intends to keep everyone around her out of trouble and on the right track but doesn't realize her method isn't helping at all and only drives people away.
She does occasionally soften to people. She can be very friendly and motherly to them, offering help at any chance she can. She tries to lead them in the right direction, but without being harsh. She's generally protective over those she is close to. Brook is a very organized and responsible person. Part of being responsible is that she feels as if she's responsible for everyone else.

⇀ Quirks & Habits
- When Brook gets nervous, she tends to play with her hair or bite her lips.
- Brook has OCD. Her compulsions tend to be organizing things and checking the road for oncoming cars. She also has an obsession with her weight.
- Brook wants to be a fashion designer and spends her time sketching clothing ideas. She also knows how to sew and plans to have fashion lines for people often forgotten in the fashion industry; plus size and disabled people! She's subscribed to vogue, elle, vanity fair and other fashion magazines.
Appearance

Brook is pretty average height standing at 5'6" but is wheelchair bound. She is fair skinned with light blue eyes and a heart-shaped face. Her eyes are almond shaped with an upward tilt. She has wavy, light pink hair that goes down to her chest. She is very skinny, almost being bony because she is overly conscious about her weight and doesn't eat much.

- Brook is wheelchair bound. She is paralyzed from the waist down. She always sits poised and there's no appearance of stomach rolls.

History
⇀ Background
She grew up in a functional well-off household. Her father was at work a lot but still made time for his family. She was bossy as a child but still managed to have a lot of friends. In middle school, she was fairly popular and had a good amount of friends and admirers. In sophomore year of high school, she was walking home with her best friend from the mall when they were run down by a car in a hit and run. The hit paralyzed her from the waist down and killed her best friend. She struggled with her new found paralysis and gained a lot of sympathy from her school but also added some awkwardness between her and other people as they didn't know how to deal with the incident. They were all very nice and accommodating but she found it annoying as if she was being babied. She became incredibly independent and some of her friendships sort of died.
⇀ Family
Brook's family is a very functional, appearing like a perfect TV show family. Her dad was a business man, often leaving for meetings and conferences out of state. He has a decent salary for luxuries and they live a nice upper middle-class life. He tries to keep in touch with his family as much as possible while he's gone and brings home souvenirs. Brook's mother is mainly a stay at home mom, occasionally working as a substitute teacher for elementary schools around the area. Behind the perfect facade her family puts up, is a lonely mother and a well-mannered daughtered bottling her feelings. Brook's accident was very hard on her family and the bills were almost too much for them to afford. Her parents would often get in arguments over the money situation and Brook in her anguish could no longer bottle her anger and took it out on everyone else. Brook's mother knew she couldn't divorce her father because she couldn't afford to live on their own. The perfect family had broken down but would still try their hardest to appear fine to everyone else.
Relationships
 ⇀Alex [ Hate Friends ]Brook is very hard on Alex and tends to yell at him a lot, usually for seemingly meaningless things. She cares about him and doesn't want him to do anything stupid, but it usually comes off as nitpicking and a distaste for him. She certainly gets annoyed with him and teases him about things. |
 ⇀Olivia [ Friends ]Olivia crushes on Brook and admires how pretty she is. Brook and Olivia share rooms and Brook yells at Olivia for having too many stuffed animals and making the room messy. Olivia thinks Brook should calm down and stop yelling at everyone. Brook wants to braid Olivia's hair. Olivia likes Brook's art and fashion sketches. |
 ⇀Anna [ Friends ]Brook is the one who puts together Anna's outfits. She's jealous of Anna's curvy body but it also gives her the challenge of putting clothing on a curvy model. Since fashion design is something Brook is interested in, being able to clothe a curvy person opens up her designing ability. Anna is often yelled at by Brook for going out with Alex or sleeping at inappropriate times. Brook is super protective over Anna and she feels she needs to protect her from Alex. Anna really doesn't understand Brook's fuss over her but wishes she would stop yelling at Alex and everyone else. |
 ⇀Connor [ Crushing/Dating ]Brook has a lot of sympathy for Connor. She wouldn't yell at him because she knows he's obviously got a deeply rooted fear of it and something terrible must have happened to him. She began talking to him more frequently to understand him, and finding out about his past made her feel more and more sorry for him. Through their bonding, she began to develop feelings for him. When Connor would confront her about her yelling, she toned it down to just scolding (except when Connor isn't there). |
