Cicada grew up in the valley, in the city of Pine Ridge. Cicada was a surprise to her parents, the two not even married by the time she was brought into the world, however they both did their very best to raise Cicada to be the loving and kind individual she is today. Her parents had soon married after she was born, and decided to homeschool her instead of send her to boarding school. This allowed for Cicada to truly learn about her home and get to know everyone a part of it, as well as learn many life lessons from the people her parents were friends with. As she got older, she had immediately taken her parent's lessons and offered to help run errands for a small allowance, the young girl making many friends each time she stepped into the street. Every shop owner knew her by name and her toothless smile, and always snuck her candies every time she would go visit them on her errand runs.

As she got older, her parents moved from the valley to Azmarin for their retirement, leaving Cicada's childhood home in her hands. She had immediately got to work with making the house truly hers, planting lots of sunflowers by the fences and expanding the garden a bit more to her tastes. She had been employed at a small general store in town, where she spends her time organizing shelves and making sure stocks are in order. Organization has always been something that Cicada had found comfort in, so when the position had opened she had jumped on it with immediacy. Her job had allowed her to make a lot of new friends, and after going to many parties and events, Cicada became very well known among a lot of the individuals her age. Her neighbors now always say hello to her and stop to chat- something that never happened before despite knowing that the young lady lived in the house since she was a child.

Cicada's popularity spike caused her to have a lot of feelings of self-doubt, especially when she sees girls who she thinks are much prettier than she is. This has led to her having a lot of body-positivity issues when it comes to her image, and tends to be herself up a lot over it despite her close friends and confidantes telling her she has nothing to worry about. To this day she still has a lot of problems with her image, but luckily she has made so many friends that no matter what, she knows they will be there for her even on days that she feels a bit down in the dumps. Cicada still works at the general store doing the exact same job as she always has. She had been offered higher positions multiple times, but she has since turned every offer down in favor of continuing to do the job she finds the most comfort in. She is still a ray of sunshine and does her best to be a positive role model for younger generations, as well as help children who feel like they do not fit in. She still has a lot of work to do when it comes to loving herself and learning how to deal with criticism in a healthy way, but luckily she has great people around her who help her with that each day.
