PERSONALITY:
tired, grumpy, too-old-for-this-shit. protective. fiercely loyal.
he loves cats and will do anything to protect them. and rocco. he loves rocco just about as much as his cats, but you would be hard-pressed to catch him saying that outloud.
his personality is extremely deadpan - one word responses, never gives information or his personal thoughts away without an extremely good reason. the type of person to wait for you to be more specific with your questions or conversation before he's willing to put any effort in (just stares at you in the meantime). on the flipside, he's very protective and loyal and shows his affection much in the way a cat would by leaving you dead birds on your doorstep, except the birds are knives and carrots.
he's really just a sad, sad, sad old man.
BACKSTORY:
issac graves (known affectionately to rocco as "mr. graves") is a former vale assassin now working for a magical items retrieval company, cicero. cicero has direct ties and works with the vale, the monarchical religion in the world. he works specifically for rocco's dad, hugo greylock; his job is serving as a bodyguard - i.e. basically a glorified babysitter - for rocco (and also formerly rocco's brother hector).
RECENT HAPPENINGS:
recently, things have been hard for issac graves. after securing safe passage for rocco and his friends out of cicero and highkeep, issac left his apartment in flames and rescued himself and his three cats out of highkeep. he also recently became reunited with ares montblanc, his former assassin partner during their time with the vale. things were very tense between the two, as ares revealed issac graves was the one who murdered him; but it was also issac who sent in a vampire to bring him back from the edge of death. issac has been tailing the party ever since they left highkeep, presumably to keep an eye on rocco, but the rest of his motivations remain hidden.
when confronted by rocco about whether or not he lost his job at cicero, issac was painfully, deliberately vague. he seems to still be in contact with hugo. issac has been let into the resistance by the party, and he still remains faithful to keeping rocco safe. he has been visibly distressed after rocco and the party have gone missing or entered into big combat battles without his supervision. he knows the danger that the lachesis weapons hold, but he refuses to speak more about what he may know.
