PERSONALITY

Cheeky, vulgar, shameless, utterly unfappable. After years of internet trolling, Emmy has long since become the mask. (This mask, specifically.) She's always out to get someone's goat, but good luck getting hers. A true contrarian, she delights in provoking as much petty frustration as possible. Always smiling and LOLing her way through insults, transgressions, and general reprehensible behavior. It's hard to tell whether her relentless attitude is maintained in the name of fun or malice. Probably both, as it turns out. Emmy's chipper mockery serves as the lovable face to a mean vengeful streak, and her lack of remorse can be downright jarring at times.

Despite her insufferable sense of humor and selfish tendencies, though, she's actually deeply devoted to her friends and loved ones. Like, Would Lay Down Her Life For Them kinda devotion. She also stands firmly by her moral principles, which are uh. Somewhat noble, I guess. We can give her a little credit. She values individual freedom, detests tyranny, and - well - at least claims to only inflict criminal harm upon shitty people who had it coming. The hoops she jumps through to rationalize her actions are a little dubious, though. Hm. Beneath all this, she's harboring some pretty heavy existential woes. Sure, Emmy may joke about being a human-turned-machine against her will, but... man... F's in the chat, y'all.

Her interests include classic rock, roadtripping, camping, the Great State of Virginia, sweet tea, Club Penguin, and anarcho-capitalism. She loves all video games - yes, even the bad ones - but Kirby is her favorite franchise.

VOICE

Emmy speaks very softly, but like, in the worst way possible. A little too soft and flowy. Is she trying to sound sarcastic, or is that seriously just how she talks? Who's to say, she'll never tell. She has the slightest hint of a southern accent. Inserts a lot of "hmmm?"s and "wow!"s just to piss you off.

When disturbing the peace, taunting superheroes, and sabotaging the United States Government as GR13FR, she speaks using an automated robotic voice. Y'know, sounds kinda like Alexa, or GLaDOS. She sometimes also uses automated voices for funsies, though.

BACKGROUND

Oh, you know, just a born-and-raised Virginian gamer girl! Happy childhood, loving single father, chronically online adolescence. Dropped out of college to become the full-time YouTuber you know and adore. A laundry list of comedic school-age misadventures and hilarious ex-girlfriend stories, which she won’t shut up about in her videos. Just ordinary Emmy things, what more can she say?

Emmy, or rather, United States Government Asset #L337, as it turns out, is an experimental cyborg! A top-secret experiment! A test tube baby, filled from birth with nanomachines that’ve replaced her insides, slowly but surely, over the course of her life. Her parents had only the best of intentions, hoping to revolutionize medicine and robotics alongside their one-of-a-kind super-daughter! The Government Asset Program, however, had different plans. Mizuki gave her life to keep them from taking and weaponizing her beloved baby. Takara went rogue, whisking Emmy away and raising her in secrecy. Years later, the Government still intends to reclaim their Asset. Unfortunately for them, Emmy’s grown into one hell of an anti-authoritarian cyber-terrorist.

Donning the guise of GR13FR, she became a supervillain alongside her pal Hijack. The two quickly escalated from petty robbery to full-blown heists. Though Emmy still enjoys the thrill and profit of crime for personal gain, her primary goal is complete government sabotage. She’s established her own laboratory headquarters, a tangled web of shady corporate dealings, and a shaky alliance with fellow rogue Assets.

In her obsessive fervor, though, despite herself… Emmy might be losing what shreds of humanity she has left.

Electronic devices bend effortlessly to her will. She can hack your smartphone just by thinking about it. "My city now, lol!"

RELATIONSHIPS

Owen - Supervillain crime partners, platonic soulmates, vitriolic best buds to the wildest extreme! Emmy might just be the bad influence that tipped Owen off into a spiral of wickedness and depravity, oopsie poopsies n' all that. Though their friendship is turbulent, they're ride-or-die til the bitter end.

Shirley - Emmy's longtime hacker rival. These two have a complicated history - between the U.S. government using Shirley as a pawn to re-claim their misplaced robot, and Emmy's attempted sabotage of his escape plan - but they're good now. Mostly. Really.

Vivian - If you fuck with Owen, you fuck with Emmy. Vivian learned this the hard way. Eye for an eye, lol!!! Now that they're on the same "side," things are... better, but not exactly poggers.

Julian - A superhero rival to GR13FR. Though he’s foiled her plans before, she doesn’t take him too seriously, and loves to mess with him. On occasion, they may put their differences aside and collaborate for the greater good.

Reflex - A dangerous Asset who’s hunting Emmy and her pals down. Though she hates to admit it, Reflex is pretty much her worst nightmare. Doesn’t help that he’s one of the only people who can really get under her skin.

Terrell - Emmy's beloved single father, the coolest dad in the world, she would rate him 10/10 on IGN! ... Except, for the part where he neglected to tell her she was a McFreaking Robot until she was 22. That was pretty rough. She still loves him, but isn't sure she can quite forgive him.

Mizuki - Emmy never got the chance to know her mom. Sure would’ve been nice, huh...
