Simi is dangerously reckless. She's a party nihilist, she lives in the moment and doesn't think anything through. She's the typical mad scientist trope. There are protocols in place and tests to run before making major changes in engineering, but she never follows them and just jumps right into action. Luckily she is very good at what she does and it usually works. Usually. The times it hasn't, it really hasn't. She lost both her hands while experimenting with an artificial singularity from an old Romulan ship and now has prosthetics, which she actually prefers because now she doesn't need gloves and can just reach right into molten metal or sub zero matter.
