Varian is a speedster hero with fast reflexes- but bends over backwards to please everyone around him.
When you're as fast as him you can just outrun your problems, right?
Power Description
Varian's mutant ability is super speed. His senses and reaction times are also heightened.
Disadvantages
When he uses his speed, he expends more energy than a normal person. Because of this he has to intake more than a normal person. His metabolism has him eating and snacking often. Hazards in terrain can also take him out- have to watch your step when you're running so much.
Biography
Born alongside his twin, Valerie- to the Vaillant family- Varian has always had certain expectations on his shoulders. Vaillant Tech is a leading technology company worldwide, they supply much of the R.S.H. technology, including parts for Regulators (devices that weaken mutant powers). Varian, unwilling to be the heir to the company, decided to pursue hero work instead.
After filing for transfer to the States, Varian now works at the local branch of the R.S.H. to meet his extended family. Varian decided to leave his home after disagreements with his Father and Grandfather. Varian is one of the newer supers at the R.S.H, and tends to work solo as the speedster Velocity. After a momentary struggle of wondering if he really belonged here, Varian has made himself at home on base. He seems to have developed an interest in a certain news reporter....and a wanted criminal-
Physical Description
Lean but fit, and slightly above average height. He has rose brown hair with light blue eyes and unusual pupils caused by his mutation. His ears have an unusual point- almost elf-like in appearance.
Personality
Varian is a polite and thoughtful person. He is considerate of others, but tends to bottle up and complaints or concerns. He struggles with self confidence and anxiety issues, and can be a bit self-sacrificial at times. Being around the more domineering personalities of his father and grandfather, he's grown used to being quiet. After his move, he comes out of his shell more, yay for emotional growth.

Friends
Marinka- The first person Varian really connected with when he arrived. Marinka's personality is much more outgoing that what he's used to, but he can't help but be drawn to her. Her bubbly nature made it easy for him to trust her over time. Velocity often times he will find excuses to hang out with the reporter in private. He hasn't yet worked up the courage to ask her out, but he's got strong feelings. He hopes that she feels the same, though sometimes it's hard to be sure when he sees her crushing on other heroes.
Maxine- Varian's cousin whom he came over to meet. Maxine was unaware of her extended family, making it hard for the two of them to bond initially. After the unfortunate miscommunications on both ends, eventually the two were able to make up and begin to bond as family. Varian has an especially close bond with his younger cousin, Maxine's little brother Ham.
Markus- One of the first people on base to show kindness to Varian and offer him friendship in his time of need. These two can occasionally be found hanging out together and enjoying the peace and quiet. Varian likes how calm and gentle Markus is, making him easy to be around. They often like to talk about their hobbies over a nice cup of tea.
Vicky- Varian's temporary partner when he first moved over. Vicky played nice and got Varian to trust her. After learning that Vicky was only using him to make another hero jealous, their friendship was over. She left Varian worried that no one would ever truly want him around without some ulterior motive.
