PERSONAL SKILL

Gareth, being a noble, was taught how to use the sword. He's quite straight forward and predictable, having a very taught style. Still, he was surprisingly strong and sturdy in his youth. That's only gone up tenfold, thanks to living a rough life after running away.

SOLO SKILL

- Name: After Image
- Range: 1 mile
- Influence: This is something Gareth obtained in his youth, though it really didn't do much for him in the way of helping his royal family rule the country. He will always have this skill before he even is an option to be king in Sanctus Halisa.

Gareth has the ability called "After Image," in which he can leave, quite literally, after images of himself. This is limited to only himself and exclusively others. Meaning, anything he's touching or anybody he's touching can also appear in his after image. Not touching means they won't appear.

He also can leave multiple after images of himself, though they become more and more limited in movement. His useful radius is 1 mile. He can extend past that, but once it goes beyond 1 mile, the after images are static with no movement, and disappear quickly. 

The movements are basic, but he can choose what they're doing. He can leave After Image of himself drinking from a cup, reading a book, holding a baby. He also does not need to be doing the action at the same time to keep the illusion active. 

After Image is not physical, and if you attempt to touch it, your hand will go through it.

About

Gareth is born to a very noble family, with his cousin being royalty in his homeland. He was content living a luxurious life without the responsibility of possibly ever inheriting the throne. One day, he was confronted by his parents of a proposition. He would marry a queen and become king of a very small kingdom that was unknown. Because it was small and they worried about being overtaken, they released few details, but his family jumped for the opportunity for him. The only requirement was that he had no Solo Skill, of which he lied through his teeth about.

He arrives in Sanctus Halisa, and is immediately on guard. There's something wrong with the town, but he can't pinpoint what it is. He lies about wearing his necklace they gave him, and acts when he must. Eventually he has a daughter, Juliette. Over the course of years though, his wife grows frail and weak, his daughter strangely wise beyond her delicate age of 4. It's... creepy. He investigates areas he has no reason to be in, and after gathering information, thinks there's something that's going to happen; something very bad, involving his children.

By now, he's got a son, Gabriel. 

In TL1 & TL2, when Gabriel is 4 years old, Gareth makes his grand escape, clutching his young son and making a treacherous trip down the mountain. They settle down in Yoria, after many months of hiding in obscure regions and areas.

In TL3 and beyond, Gareth is visited by Nikko, Cas, and Isa. A most bizarre chain of events lead to this, but they tell him he needs to take the 5 year old Arlen with him when he runs away with 4 year old Gabriel. After being convinced, he does so, running away with both boys down the mountain.

NOTABLE MOMENTS IN TIMELINE 1 & 2

Gareth only takes Gabriel, now renamed Vayne, down the mountain to live in Yoria. When the kingdom invades Yoria, Gareth is found and executed shortly after being brought back to Sanctus Halisa.

NOTABLE MOMENTS IN TIMELINE 3

Gareth is visited by Nikko, Cas, and Isa when Gabriel is quite young. They explain that time was reset, and Arlen needs to be taken with him to possibly offset the catastrophe awaiting them. He agrees, taking Arlen and Gabriel with him to live in Yoria. 

Relationships

Vayne Chanton [ son ]

Vayne, born Gabriel, is Gareth's second born child and only son. When he realized he had already lost his daughter to whatever was possessing her and his queen, he knew he had to save his little boy. Vayne is Gareth's world, and it wouldn't be worth living unless his boy is there, too. Anything he's ever done is with Vayne's best interest in mind. He lives his life for the only thing he has left. 

Arlen Zalani [ (TL3+) adopted son ]

Essentially, he kidnapped a 5 year old Arlen. The boy was tough to crack, being raised as a child soldier. But he was young, and with another kid to play with, over the years the little Arlen began to relax and really became his own person. Gareth loves Arlen as his own kid, and thinks Arlen makes a great older brother to his slightly more rambunctious little brother. He still doesn't fully understand why he needed to take Arlen, but the trio confirmed his fears, so he never doubted he'd take the boy.

Kinsley Abbott [ ex-body guard ]

Kinsley is the loyal guard to the royal family, specifically to Gareth. He always wondered why he needed a guard and not his queen, but he accepted it regardless. The two were close enough in age, and actually got along really well. Gareth really did like Kinsley's eager attitude and strangely naive and enthusiastic approach to situations. He thinks Kinsley to be the pinnacle of a knight, but also the true idea of a good friend.
