PERSONAL SKILL

Arlen was bred and born to become a fighter, and his physique reflects this. He has incredible control of his body, with skill in weaponry to back up his prestigious, violent upbringing. He does not need to rely on Skills or weapons to fight, either. He's quite comfortable going into a fight bare handed; he knows he'll win. 

SOLO SKILL

- Name: Anesthetic
- Range: limitless
- Influence: Always spawns, as Arlen will always be enrolled in the Sanctus Halisa Super Soldier Program. It is something he naturally spawned in his journey to becoming an elite soldier growing up.

Arlen has the ability of "Anesthetic," which is the inability to feel pain. This is a Skill he can turn on and off at will. It is not something that automatically triggers when pain is felt, either. He has to enable it. Arlen also must be conscious to activate it. In place of pain when Anesthetic is activated, he feels pressure.

The drawback to Anesthetic is that his body is still responding internally to pain. Though he may not feel it, and can fight through it, eventually his body may give out if he pushes it too hard past it's threshold. 

LINK SKILL

Arlen & Isa
- Name: Standstill
- Range: 6 FT from one another. current time limit: 3 seconds.
- Influence: There are no second chances, and "If only I had a second more," has become a slogan which has become a vital crutch to Arlen and Isa. Arlen's intense desire to keep Isa away from all danger coupled with Isa's need to intake as much intel as possible has created this Link Skill.

Arlen and Isa have spawned a special Link Skill, "Standstill." This grants them the ability to slow down or pause time. They must be no more than 6 feet away from the other, and it creates a "dome" effect- both boys must be inside the dome to keep the Skill active. All time inside that dome is effected- time outside of it goes at a normal pace. Only one needs to activate it. When time is slowed or halted, both boys are able to move at a normal pace. 

At a slowed pace, time moves at 1/4th the normal speed. 

When time is halted, they only have 3 seconds. However, with practice and an extended relationship, the limit can increase. 

The drawbacks to Standstill is that they will always have to be 6 feet away from one another, that can never be extended. 

About

Arlen Zalani is born in Sanctus Halisa, a kingdom that is mentioned only in whispers and myth. He is born not out of love, but necessity. His parents are considered elite soldiers of Sanctus Halisa, and together bear Arlen to enroll into the Super Soldier Program. As such, he never sees them, instead raised alongside many others who were bred to become child soldiers. 

It's clear the unconventional way of raising him has affected his emotional growth, rarely showing any emotion. Ryder was the one training Arlen's group of child soldiers, and was able to look past his stoic outer shell and utterly charmed by the boy underneath. It helped give Arlen some sense of normality, seeing Ryder as a potential fatherly figure. Even he knows he gets special treatment from Ryder, realizing he's the favorite of the bunch.

In TL1 and TL2, he goes out on a mission to scout for the missing King Gareth and Prince Gabriel; he then becomes a missing person himself. He ends up living in Yoria, the brainwashing having faded and he lives in hope and fear.

In TL3 and beyond, he is essentially kidnapped by Gareth when he runs away with a four year old Vayne, and is raised as part of their family in Yoria. 

NOTABLE MOMENTS IN TIMELINE 1 & 2

Arlen is Ryder's sacrifice. Due to Ryder's strength, Arlen is killed with a blade to his chest, cracking his ribs. He is incredibly close to Sanctus Halisa and Ryder in these timelines, fulfilling the requirements needed for the sacrifice. 

NOTABLE MOMENTS IN TIMELINE 3

Having disappeared by the age of five, Arlen does not have the close relationship necessary for Ryder and the sacrifice. Instead, he grows up cherishing Gareth as a father and Vayne as a brother. He has some soldier training, as the program starts early in Sanctus Halisa. As of now, he has no clue he's being looked for alongside Gareth and Vayne. 

Relationships

Isa Novlyn [ friend turned lover ]

Isa is the one who finds a lost and confused Arlen, and extends his hand in friendship. Arlen ends up attaching himself to Isa, and takes it upon himself to make sure no harm ever befalls the boy. He ends up falling deeply in love with Isa, and is not afraid to make his feelings known. He's very vocal and surprisingly, very affectionate. Isa is his most special, cherished person. And he will protect Isa with his life, if it comes down to it.

Owen Ryder [ father figure ]

Ryder may have been the one to teach Arlen as a child the art of fighting and death, but he ended up taking a more fatherly role. Arlen, in his childish naivete, would reach out to Ryder, very unlike many other child soldiers who staved off emotional reliance. He enjoyed his time with Ryder, and their relationship is one of the few things he misses from Sanctus Halisa. It is naive, but though Ryder is from the kingdom that Arlen is hiding from, he still wants to trust Ryder.

Vayne Chanton [ TL3: brother ]

Once TL3 hits, Arlen is now raised by Gareth- and has a little brother now. These two headstrong and physically strong boys act exactly as you expect. Stupid, and a lot of fist fighting. But brotherly and loving. They do really love each other, and don't let people pick on either. They're also very blunt and honest together; there's no secrets here. When you see these two together, so long as you're their friend, you know you're well protected.

Gareth Chanton [ TL3: father ]

Once TL3 hits, Gareth swoops in to take Ryder's father figure crown. Raised by Gareth since he was five years old, he ends up really seeing the man as his dad. It's hard to realize how hard Gareth worked to make them happy and comfortable, but he knows it had to be so much, and he's very thankful.
