Volma Argal

Volma has red skin, black hair, red eyes, and has black gloves on. Her horns are a bit longer than shown in the first picture; that was just the best I could find.

She doesn't show emotion often, but does smile from time to time. She also pretends to be a strict/by-the-book person, so that if other children were to attempt to frame her for something then the adults may be more lenient in any punishment they give her. If someone were to actually become her friend, unlike all the kids that pretended to like her just to mess with her, they'd find she likes to joke around.

Volma didn't have the best experience growing up, facing facing discrimination from other kids and some adults simply for existing and being a Tiefling. Her parents were always there to cheer her up however; with the two of them also being Tieflings they knew how she felt and what she was going through in school. She'd never ask for better parents; well, maybe a mom that didn't leave things until the last minute, like driving her to school. Other than that though she loves them to death. She was bullied quite often in school; rocks thrown at her, pushed around, framed for various trouble-makings, etc. She quite often distrusts others because of this, even if they seemingly have good intentions towards her. However, she always aims to help others, even if they don't like her for one reason or another. 

Unfortunately when she turned 10, her dad was diagnosed with cancer, and has since been bed-ridden. Thankfully her mom began working more and now makes enough money for them all to get by alright, so there's no current worry about money. Since then she has been lying to her parents, saying that the bullying had stopped and she actually has a couple friends. Volma claims they're okay with Tieflings, but their parents aren't, and so they aren't allowed to hang out at Volma's house. That way she doesn't have to worry about her parents wanting to see her "friends". She only does this because she doesn't want to put more stress onto her parents, what with her mom now working a lot and her father being bed-ridden with cancer.

Trivia:

• Born on October 31st, 1985
• She's been in a couple fist fights with other students before, of which they started, but she was blamed wholly for.
• Volma will read books whenever she has free time between school, homework, and her little jobs she takes.
  • Her favourite genre is Fantasy, and she often reads them as a form of escapism. When younger she'd pretend to be a knight from one of the books.
• Sometimes Volma will bring home gifts to her bedridden father, such as flowers or treats they used to get together when she was younger. She'd also often make up stories to tell him.
  • She is very sensitive about her father's condition and often when reminded of it, she bottles all her feelings and doesn't release all of it until at the end of the day, when she's all alone in her room. She doesn't want her parents to see her so sad.
• Volma has unusually long horns for someone her age. They don't really impede her much, but it does make getting shirts on difficult.
• Volma has multiple subfolders within subfolders hidden on the family computer on how to make friends, a bunch of notepads of gifts she could get her family, and floral pictures with stories to tell her father.
• Volma looks for little jobs here and there to help support her family and to buy cute gifts for her father. They're never jobs that would require her to come back every couple days, just small things like mowing lawns that would only take a bit of the day. 
  • When she goes to do the work she claims that she’s hanging out with her friend, and if her parents question the money she claims she’s just lucky and found it on the ground.
• Volma has paid people before to take a picture with her, so she can at the least show her parents what her "friends" look like.
  • The most awkward was with someone who was on shift at the time, but they didn't have a uniform for their job.
• She has a hard time believing any form of compliment directed towards her. In the past people would often walk up to her, tell her something like "you're pretty", then walk away laughing when they saw her face light up.
• She likes to skateboard, but seeing as people don't really like Tieflings, she doesn't go to any skate parks. The most she'll do is just skate to wherever her next "job" is.
• Despite both her parents knowing how to swim, Volma cannot.
• She owns a switchblade, but purely for self defense. She's hesitant to even hold it, but does so because it was a gift from her dad when she turned 14. In case anyone gets a little too close when she's out and about.
  • She hasn't yet had to use the switchblade, thankfully.
• Her parents already know that she's lying about her friends and wishes that she would tell them the truth. After all, it's not easy keeping that kind of secret from parents, especially for a long time. The truth always comes out eventually. 
  • However, it does warm their heart to know that their daughter cares so much for them. Because of this, they try to spend as much time with Volma to make up for her lack of friends.
• Her favourite dessert is Cherry Pie.
