Ayaka Ginga  (銀河 彩華 Ginga Ayaka), also known as Cosmic Heroine: Nova (コズミックヒロイン: 新生 Kozumikkuhiroin: Shinsei) is a student of Class 1-A at U.A High School, training to become a Pro Hero.

To almost everyone, Ayaka is super introverted and mostly socially awkward. She appears not to have the best time approaching people first, and when she does it turns out to be very awkward. It causes her to be a little embarrassed and frantic sometimes. Despite that, she is way different once one gets under her shell. If she is comfortable with a person, she will be quick to open up and instantly become more social with them.

When very close to someone, she's described to be super caring and devoted to that person. As with all of her friends and close family, she's always making sure to keep in touch with them and make a lot of effort with them. Though, since she usually wants to make others happy, she bends herself out of shape sometimes for some others, which becomes a habit for her.

Quirk

Cosmic Body (宇宙の体 Uchū no karada): Ayaka's quirk gives her a body that is capable of producing the cosmic matter that is found naturally in cosmic/celestial bodies. Upon use, her eyes (including the sclera) will glow. Her quirk shows prominently in her strange purple hair, giving it a "liquidy" looking consistency and a natural float to it.

She can put her energy to use by releasing it to manipulate it in the following ways: in the "liquidy" looking state, shield formations, simple constructs such as spears, and can surround both herself and other objects in order to make them levitate almost like a telekinetic effect.

• Cosmic Bolt: Circular bolts of her pure energy that she launces as thrown projectiles.
• Shield: A simple solid formation used as a barrier for attacks. These can vary in size.
• Space Dome: By putting her hands up above her in the air, she creates a protective dome around her and/or any other within her vicinity.
• Shooting Stars: Ayaka hardens small portions of the energy and quickly sends them out as projectiles.
• Space Bubble: Forming a bubble around objects and/or others in order to encase them as if they were in a trap.
• Crescent Moon: Two claw-like structures are formed on each one of her hands.
• Space Cloak: Uses the natural form to make tentacle-like structures covering her arms in order to use them as whips.
• Cosmic Blast: A high-pressure jet of her energy sent right at an opponent to knock them back off their feet.
  • Starburst: A version of this move, however, it was done with Katsuki Bakugo once, making the result of the attack explosive.
• Cosmic Spears: Simple constructs that can be used for melee combat.
• Meteor Shower: Ayaka produces multiple spheres of solidified energy while in the air and lets them rain down on an opponent.
• Mars: A move Ayaka taught herself modeled off of her brother's quirk, she surrounds her arms completely in a large amount of energy (making it look like extremely large pairs of arms). It's solidified and she then uses them to physically attack an opponent.
• Reign of Jupiter: Ayaka's final move, she creates large, high-speed vortexes that can be sent flying at opponents. With the constant pacing that she forms and sends them, it wastes a ton of her energy.

Background

Ayaka was born in Tokyo, Japan to Daisuke Tsuyoi and Kana Ginga, a couple that never married and fell apart before she had even been born. Because of Kana's bad habits and previous choices with her son Teiji, Ayaka was taken by her father in a move to Musutafu. Her entire childhood was spent here being raised by Daisuke and her aunts Akeno and Ikuyo.

For the first few years of her life, she spent her time in a rather high-cost home with her father and both of her aunts working for a big business. While the three were at work, she and Teiji were babysat by a select few other relatives (depending on who had the time to watch them). Teiji liked to pester her, leading to arguments between the two like a typical pair of siblings but that didn't stop what fun they had. Because they bore almost the same quirk, Ayaka would beg Teiji to teach her how to use hers so they could both mess around with it. The siblings' rather luxurious life in this area was short-lived, however. Her aunt Ikuyo ended up meeting someone, leading her to move away without thinking about how that would mess things up for the father and Akeno after losing their jobs.

When Ayaka was around five years of age, the family had to make another move due to the loss of their jobs. The four of them moved in with one of her uncles, Iwao, and set out with a new start in different jobs. Growing up from here, Ayaka couldn't really get exactly what she wanted all the time, but not just in a sense of money. Her family started going downhill with her father starting to care more about working and his hookups with various women. Akeno and Iwao were her only go-to people for comfort, but even then though, they turned out not to be enough for her when she started becoming a target for the kids she thought were her friends. Now on top of being neglected by her father, Ayaka had to suffer constant fear of being judged and made fun of just for who she was when she was still so young.

Her brother, Teiji, ended up graduating from U.A. High when she was entering her middle school years. Seeing how he had done it despite their father's dislike for him entering the hero life, lit a fire of determination in her to try and become like him. Of course, her father did not like the fact that his daughter wanted to enter something so dangerous over the field he wanted her to enter. It only made their bond break a little more as he was fond of using harsh words against her to bring her down and try to dissuade her from the path she wished to take. Ayaka didn't let that stop her, though, as she pushed forward through middle school and right into the entrance exam for U.A.

• Ayaka's surname contains the kanji for "silver" (銀 gin) and "river" (河 kawa) which in turn would have the meanings of Milky Way or galaxy. Her first name has the kanji for "color" (彩 aya) and "flower" (華 ka)

• She likes to sleep with stuffed animals. Often she says that it's for "maximum comfort and safety"
• With her birthday being April 30, this would make her the second oldest of Class 1-A.
• In her free time. she likes either drawing, reading, or playing games from time to time. She's also been seen to go out at night and use her quirk to roam around the sky.
