Resilient Soft-hearted Studious Disinclined Hesitant Anxious

Bluebird is just the type of cat who goes to the extents of putting herself in dangerous situations when she is (a) truly, deeply, madly intrigued by something; or (b) overly emotional. Being at a very young age when she founded the Moonwatchers' guild, she forced herself to become more mature and disciplined, throwing her youth into a box with a heavily guarded lock and placing a mask of solemnity over her face. Because of her sudden and poorly-thought decision to start a guild in her emotional state, she constantly feels like she has to prove herself worthy of being a leader, and refusing to see the qualities which make her strong and admired by others.

Despite doing her best to act stern and serious, Bluebird can get exhausted with putting up her facade. And although she is genuine about becoming better, both as a leader to her guild members, and as an individual; her true self hides within. To those who are very close with her, especially her most trusted comrade and first guild recruit, Magnus, she is a soft-hearted and very loving cat who is pleasant to be around and comfortable to talk to. Many cats think she is exactly the mature-for-her-age type of cat she presents herself as, but those who have gotten to know her- and some who see through the cracks of her mask wish that she can relax and start to just be herself.

Born to a guild master and his wife, Bluebird was immediately brought up into the life of a guild cat. Her father, Bluejay, was a skilled mage who taught her all the basics of magic, but she herself was talented and showed great promise in her skills and capacity to learn. At the ripe young age of 5 ( as an equivalent to human years ) her father gave her an enchanted quill, one that she holds dear to this day, and is what she uses to cast spells. With the gift of this magic medium, her adroitness in magic grew at an even swifter pace, making up and casting her very own spells only a year after she'd taken up her father's mentoring. Another ritual Bluejay would go through with his daughter to bond with her would be to take her up to the surface during the nighttime, since his guild was located near the realm above; and this was where the young mage fell in love with the night sky. Her father deemed her " Moonwatcher " as a sobriquet whenever they'd watch the night sky from then on. Although Bluebird and her father were very close, she couldn't say the exact same thing about her mother. Rhea was a forager, almost always away on long expeditions and only returning to the guild to bring back the loot she and her team of foragers gathered on their journeys. Regardless of the time they spent together, Rhea's love for her only kit never faltered, and she would always remember to bring back a book, a scroll, quills, and other smaller trinkets from her adventures. Because of this, Bluebird grew fond of tomes, especially those with written knowledge on magic and creatures which roamed the Catacombs.

Bluebird lived a happy life in her father's guild, with the cats who were a part of the guild raising her and treating her as family. She felt like she was where she belonged. Alas, the weavers of fate had other plans for her. A messenger came one day, delivering the unfortunate account of her mother's untimely death. This ultimately broke her father, reducing him to a shell of the once strong cat he used to be. No one in the guild saw this coming, as Bluejay had been resolute in dealing with past casualties, losses, and problems. But this incident sparked an uproar with the once loyal cats of the guild, others spoke of challenging their leader and overthrowing him, whilst there were those who chose to stick by his side. Bluebird was told to leave by her own father, deeming the place she'd once called her home unsafe for her. And despite her best efforts to argue and stay by his side, Bluejay was firm, using what remained of his broken will to ensure that she would end up far away from the civil war that was beginning.

She wandered far, alone and not quite lost, but not found. Bluebird did her best to keep her hopes up, not wanting to waste her parents' efforts in bringing her up and wanting her to become their legacy. Little did she know that she had already done them proud, even with the relatively short time they had spent. She spent time sleeping in fields or at inns, when she felt like it. And though her father had given her treasure and coins- enough to keep her well-provided for, she would be scarce with spending them. She awaited the day her father would ask her to come back to the guild, and yet it never seemed to come. It had been years since she last heard from him, and only when a courier came with her name written on a scroll did she get informed of the tragedy which struck. Her father had died too. Her old guild; disbanded. It seemed the life she'd been hoping to return to was lost, and she wasn't able to do anything to stop it, or even be there. In the spur of emotional guilt and confusion, Bluebird made the unwise and incompetent decision to found her own guild. And since then, the Moonwatchers' guild was born.

• The alias ' Moonwatcher ' comes from the sobriquet her father gave her years ago, when they came up to the surface to watch the night sky. Bluebird was so fond of the moon that her father gave her the title, and she has decided to use it to honor him.
