Personality
A soft-spoken young lady who tries to greet everyone she meets with a smile! Although she seems quite shy and timid at first glance, she's really simply just a quiet person and is actually very cheerful once you can get her talking. Even despite her troubled childhood, Ruby is a friendly optimist who has always trusted people much too easily for her own good. However, she gets very shaken up when confronted and will cry easily if frightened, though she brightens up easily once she feels safe again.

Background
On a fateful trip to the beach with her family when she was 6 years old, Ruby was attacked in the ocean by a teenage boy with the peculiar ability to become a shark. This resulted in the loss of her left leg and, due to the nature of the boy's ability, left her with the ability to involuntarily turn into a shark herself on the night of the full moon. Her parents, just barely able to cope with the medical bills of saving her life from the initial attack, discussed simply abandoning her somewhere so she "wouldn't be their problem". Her older sister Carla, having overheard this, disowned her parents and ran away with Ruby into life on the streets. The two struggled due to Ruby's handicap and scheduled transformations, but were eventually taken in by the Peculiar Ops founders. Being raised as their 'daughter', she quickly recovered emotionally from the hardships of her childhood, much easier than the older Carla.
Synopsis
Ruby chose to become Peculiar Ops' secretary rather than an agent, acting as the only official liaison between peculiar agents and the elusive Chief. When Mavis joins, Ruby is the one who welcomes her in and introduces her to the inner workings of the business. Her transformations are kept a secret from all outside the high-ranking members of Peculiar Ops, who come together to deal with the situation whenever it comes. Mavis also eventually discovers this secret.
