Dez

Bladez is an egocentric, bipolar maniac with a blunt, yet smooth manner of speaking. He is prone to bouts of anger and yelling and sometimes violence, though he often gets instant karma. He is easily spooked. Despite his compulsive, loud personality, Bladez is rather cunning, and will often concoct schemes to screw with everyone around him without prejudice, friends included. Besides all these downsides, Bladez is rather charming to be around in the right mood, and enjoys making others laugh, though he won’t admit this to anyone. He also enjoys having a ‘hero’ rival to antagonize.

Bladez remembers almost nothing from his early childhood. He has a very vague memory of being alone in the forest, and a fuzzier one still of waking up covered in blood, before that. He can hardly remember how he lived back then, but what he does remember is coming across a town and being recognized. His name made the townspeople gasp and he was quickly made head of a rebellion of sorts. They kicked out his cousin and her parents and put him in charge, instead. This was the only time he met any of them, and he had the impression that all three were nasty people. No longer harboring any qualms about displacing them, he took his place at the top and had been there ever since. As a child he was incredibly outgoing and persistent, and his staff either loved or hated him. He demanded his guards remove their helmets and use their names, and kept going into staff areas and disrupting the people there. He became notably close with the chef of his castle, who would let him help with the dishes and keep him company when he was bored. He met Arlus when he was a kid, and Ea when they were teens.

As an adult, Bladez was considered something of a villain, who ruled a collection of towns and cities (horribly) in Sciyr and had a sizeable, though still comparably small, army of his own to command. He happened to attempt to conquer a part of Crysmald on his own without permission from his superiors, which happened to contain the hometowns of a number of adventurers-- Kevson and her stupid friends!-- so they immediately rushed to challenge him. They defeated him, but he kept trying, building himself a name as their very own nemesis. Sooner or later the Chancellor caught wind of his unsanctioned conquests and stripped him of his political power, leaving him essentially with nothing. But the heroes took him with them instead of abandoning him and he became a mainstay of their group, if a very misfit one. Arlus and Ea remained loyal and followed him as the group proceeded to found Hero Stay Place. Now he he rules (shared rule) HSP with an iron fist! He tries to run the occasional scam but he's become more and more legitimately invested in HSP's success. Also only he and Ea know how to do paperwork of any kind.

Recently, he's felt as if he's begun to relax too much, become soft, so he's turned his plans to claiming and unifying all of No Man's Land, to become a country larger than even Sciyr, and eventually take everyone else over. That requires a lot of time and planning, though...

• He thinks his horns make him more intimidating, because he got the idea from a recurring nightmare in his childhood
• His dorse, Waheela, is unusually large
• His epicyon is named Gay because he thinks it's funny
• Gets overly-upset when his name is mispronounced. It' a sign of disrespect in his culture
• Married to Ea under Sciyr law (this was a SCHEME because Bladez got annoyed with being bombarded with marriage proposals constantly. This backfired, because then people just kept offering them children to adopt as heirs)
