Cuzin was the rightful heir to her Sciyr kingdom from the beginning. When her parents culled the weaker side of their noble family, they ensured that their subjects would have the best possible leaders. This way, Cuzin and her parents could live in luxury, like they deserved. Everything was exquisite, until Bladez came back from the dead. Their people turned against them quickly, suddenly. Cuzin's family hadn't been awful rulers, they were the Dragons of Sciyr after all. But sadly, the people still supported this half-dead child more than Cuzin's own parents, somehow.
Life in exile was awful, they barely kept afloat, while Dez ran her kingdom into the ground. Her parents wilted away before her eyes, and she had to bury them alone. However, one day, Dez slipped up. He got too greedy. The wonderfully all-knowing Chancellor finally saw what she saw in him. Once he was banished, Cuzin reclaimed her throne. Finally, she was back in power.
It's really too bad many of her subjects still like Dez. If they cared less about him, then maybe he wouldn't have to die.
