Personality

"Quote Quote"
― [ OC NAME ] , Persona 3

NOTES FIRST

  • Has weird habits and mannerisms as a result of growing up rather sheltered
  • Quiet and minds her business most of the time. She's not the best at socializing. However; is a good eavesdropper and knows what people say when they think she's not in the vicinity.
  • Absolutely hates introducing herself aside from her name. Enough judgement from others has made her feel conscious about the things that make her happy. Kind of hates herself over small things thanks peer pressure.
  • Upfront speaking makes her nervous, but she expresses herself better through a screen. She ends up stumbling on her words and gets nervous about the way others look at her.
  • Gets absolutely snappish the moment anyone tests her patience or picks on her for whatever reason. She's been picked on for "liking something too much", "liking something", "talking or acting this way", "being antisocial and having no friends" the last of which is particularly untrue, but it still gets on her nerves.
  • Has a temper when she snaps, and has become prone to violent outbursts towards the source of the jeering. This has happened numerous times to the point that Matsu refuses to open up, putting up an apathetic front. Then again, she did end up quite apathetic after a bit, in an attempt to "stop feeling".
  • You know her family encourages her to go for the throat because that's happened. Not something lamentable, because she knows she was raised to not take any form of abuse from anyone. Daddy chimed in "Go for the throat" and grandpappy chimed in "Wipe them on the floor". Maybe consider that some things are actually justifiable instead of painting the victim as the villain so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  • Honestly she's just really confused and has no idea what she's done to hurt anyone aside from physically fighting them. She does her own thing, but somehow for some reason, people don't like how she acts or talks?
  • She does have her own passions. An avid reader, enjoys video games and anime, does art as a hobby and pastime, she began dabbling into occult as a form of self-help. Not the most active nor athletic person, but she doesn't have any really unique interests. However; her love for things is really something. It's literally quite childlike but hey, these things bring her a lot of joy.
  • It will take a lot for her to start talking about the things she loves, but once she does, it's a sign of trust, even if she will constantly apologizze for talking too much.
  • Literally growing up sheltered resulted in her not being very good socially, and thus its left her with quirks otherwise seen as strange and out there by others. It's no harm to anyone, and just needs a bit of guidance and understanding.
  • Underneath her anger is really just a confused misunderstood sheltered child. Literally like, she never means to hurt anyone unless she is hurt by others. If you're willing to look past her quirks, she's honestly normal. Just very passionate about things.
  • You'd be surprised she can talk really well when she's comfortable with someone. However; she needs someone else's encouragement because she has a hard time encouraging herself.
  • Prone to dark thoughts and very heavy words to emphasize what she means when she's not in a good mood. Bullying has left her warped with a pretty morbid sense of some things.
  • Maybe help her? She doesn't like herself very much but she's not going to give anyone the satisfaction of laughing at her. She's smug when she triumphs over others.
  • Seriously, help her with her self confidence outside her circle.
  • "Does your privilege ever show that you were fortunate enough to never experience severe physical bullying and outcasting that all the hatred in you would opt to kill everyone instead of giving them the satisfcation that you killed yourself? I don't think so." Literally when SEES decided to help her it was like. . . salvation.

Story

Early Life

INFO HERE

  • Born into a family of important individuals. Her grandfather is a retired Lieutenant General in the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) and her father a Security Department Head at the Local Government Unit. Both of which help sponsor the Kirijo Group. Her Grandfather, resources; and her father, manpower.
  • Due to the positions held by the men in her family, and being an only child then, Matsu lived in prestige and was very sheltered at home. She was mostly cared for by her father and grandparents, as her mother was a very busy working woman.
  • Being sheltered wasn't so good for her, really. Her only interaction with other children her age was when meeting cousins her age, which was not quite often. So when she started school, she was quirky and didn't know how to handle social situations.
  • She was an intelligent child, wherein her family would encourage her to keep learning but was not so strict with her doing what she wanted, such as drawing and playing, because she maintained fantastic grades.
  • Met an accident in primary school where she fell on her head. Her family was distraught about it she had to be pulled out of school for a week or two to make sure there wasn't any serious damage. Everything was normal afterwards.
  • Elementary School was difficult for her socially. She maintained fantastic grades but she was bullied for the way she acted, spoke and talked about the things she liked. She seemed to be "overboard" with liking things and her love for it earned her jeering from other kids at school.
  • Bullying from school was obviously bad attention for her, and then when she came home to a little brother, the attention was now divided. Because she was growing, it was expected of her to learn how to be more independent, which made the little Matsu bitter because she started feeling like she couldn't really have anyone help her.
  • Family; however, told her to fight back. "Don't prove them right about you being a loser." Words that she would carry on for the rest of her life.
  • While it was known that she was bullied in school, she staretd fighting back and would come home to tell her family she stood up for herself. Peers would leave her alone for a bit, and then bully her again. Rinse and repeat. She made friends with other bullied kids; however, and stood up for them.
  • She was still bitter about her little brother, and became even more resentful when her youngest brother was born when she was 7. Needless to say, as a child, she didn't like her brothers very much.
  • When she was around 12, she began to experience the Dark Hour whenever she'd play video games late at night. She would freak out and hide under her blankets, as nothing seemed to work during the time. When she brought this up to her parents, they went pale and immediately took her to the Kirijos, whom her father personally knew.
  • Upon testing, it was made known Matsu maintains consciousness within the Dark Hour, and this prompted her grandfather to take her to firing range under the guise of "pastime" and "spending time together". In reality, her family knew of the Dark Hour, being a Kirijo Sponsor, and feared the absolute worst.
  • During this time, she was encouraged to befriend Mitsuru, Akihiko, Shinjiro and the other members of SEES then. They were mostly upperclassmen, but they took well to her, and she to them. Because of her age, she became clingy towards thesse upperclassmen.
  • She awakened to Selene after her family went to have dinner and watched the last full showing of a movie. She saw her family transmogrify into Coffins, while she maintained her human form and consciousness. Her awakening caused a spike in activity according to Mitsuru's readings, and sought out to find her. She was already 13 by then.
  • It wasn't long until Matsu was brought into SEES and her father and grandfather were notified of what happened to her. Sullen, but determined to still keep her safe, they adamantly refused to have Matsu move into the dorms. Matsu herself was frightened about the idea about leaving her family, and this caused her anxiety,
  • She was still bullied at school, and it was difficult for her to stay with Mitsuru and co. so she had to suffer alone, and fought back.
  • She wasn't expelled from Gekkoukan due to her family's sponsorhip of the Kirijo Group. Matsu already became infamous for being violent and the weirdo at school.
  • When she started High School, she was given no choice but to dorm with SEES to make things easier for her, and at the same time, it would help her become more independent. She did cry for a week straight because she's sheltered.

The Journey

INFO HERE

  • Is literally present on the first night with Akihiko and Fujio outside. She is left behind by Akihiko to tend to Fujio and bring him into hiding. She carried him home, collapsing because she had to carry a grown ass teenager.
  • Matsu is introduced as a classmate of the Protagonist, and an acquaintance of Yukari and Junpei. She mostly keeps to herself after Yukari introduces her. She is present during SEES meetings
  • She doesn't talk to the Protagonist until he approaches her. She gives pretty dry responses until Yukari tells her that he's nice and he won't hurt her.
  • Matsu talks to Yukari a lot in the dorms, more because Yukari apologizes to Matsu about her friends and she's trying to tell them off. While she appreciates it, they're only a small bit of everyone else who does.
  • Can be befriended by giving her a drink from the dorm while she's lounging on the Third Floor of the Dorms. She then is prompted to say she has heard about him from Yukari and Junpei. She's still a little cold by then.
  • She isn't present during SEES missions because her younger brother had contracted dengue and she has to stay in the hospital for a few consecutive nights at a time. She only comes back after Fuuka is brought into SEES.
  • Fights in school, and even Rei encourages her to. Which is,,, bad. Matsu gets bullied for even the smallest things, so being put ider a microscope has constantly put her on edge and refused to listen if she was told to stand down.
  • She can be approached in the courtyard at luchtime where she's eating.
  • Was super unsure about the Yakushima trip because haha self image.
  • She understands Yukari's bad feelings and empathizes with her, but she's not willing to turn against Mitsuru because she's also very grateful to her.
  • The divide really stresses her, and she feels that she has to make a choice.
  • She starts opening up to the rest of SEES as the game goes on

Persona 4

INFO HERE

  • By this time she's in the same art school and same course as Jiro Miyamae, just a year below him. They hang out at uni and are classmates in their General Eds. Matsu lives on her own though, while Jiro and Fuuka live together. She lounges at their apartment though.
  • Life's easier right now because she lives away from familial stress (family falling into debt because they moved to a small town in the Shizuoka Prefecture also her parents marriage falling through and her two brothers not doing okay and may have had to hear they attempted while she was away from home, but this is fine)
  • Does extra work for Mitsuru to earn money to get by, even though Mitsuru is adamant that she stay as a reserve. Well, family is in debt, and she's not asking money from her dad even if her grandparents send her money from time to time.
  • Due to the activity in Inaba, Matsu, along with the former members of SEES, was called upon by Mitsuru Kirijo to retreive Labrys. She almost didn't make it because she had some deadlines to meet, but honestly fuck GWA its high enough.
  • Mentioned to her dad that there's an operation in Inaba, so he sent over some agents of his own to support the Kirijo.
  • Matsu doesn't hold any important position, mostly because she doesn't really want to be that closely tied to the Shadow Operatives. She still wants a normal life.
  • Fun Fact: She is now very outspoken.

Persona 5

INFO HERE

  • Literally just got into an advertising firm after a delayed Graduation thanks Art School. She's in the Agency that handles advertisments for the Kohara Jeweling Corporation. Literally babbles with her colleagues and boss over the Phantom Thieves because it's a weirdly fun thing to talk about.
  • As far as Shadow Activity goes, her family is against Masayoshi Shido, and still support the Kirijo Group, who are now under scrutiny by the government. However; she can't do her agent work because 1) The Ad Agency is insane can she draw for a living first. 2) Safety first. 3) No fucking way is she jeopardizing her dad.
  • Through her old friends in SEES, she finds out that the Phantom Thieves are High School students and that some of them, namely Rei and Jiro, are blood related to them. Whiplash. "How does it feel?" "CONCERNING."
  • Still a sneaky bitch, gets receipts of anything and everything she can get her clammy hands on. Up to date with tea because it's the Advertising Industry! Is a correspondent of Wakana Soseki, and then finds out she's a Phantom Thief. Sighs.
  • Dating Yukari? Dating Yukari. They've both come a long way and she's so proud of her GF like hello look at her she was a bitch 6 years ago wekwekwek
