Demon of Vengeance, Minor Deity of Belvite, Culler of the Belles.
A creature of many names, mainly out of necessity because asking its name is generally the last thing on the mind of anyone who encounters it. To most it is Justice, but it does not waste its time either posturing for this role or arguing against it. It does not care if what it's doing is just, it only seeks to hurt those who hurt it.
Others call it carnivore, as its preferred method of attack is eating chunks of its targets until they are no longer alive and leaving mutilated bodies behind as a warning to others who might commit the same crimes.
It's a bit odd by demon standards: it doesn't care to mingle with its charges. Its chosen form is rather monstrous and its behavior is certainly not much better, and it only shows itself to humans on rare occasions(even then, more often than not the human it approaches does not live past the encounter).
Personality & Outlook
Extremely serious, single-minded devotion to inflicting vengeance on those who would use their influence to avoid their due punishment. Either isn't aware of or doesn't care for anything that happens beyond Belvite.
Seems rather immature once you get past the intimidation of being in the same room as a monster that only shows up to murder, doesn't have a very nuanced understanding of anything. Might not actually be much more intelligent than a child.
Very watchful, its opinion of a person hinges entirely on how much harm they've done. Doesn't care to talk, maybe cuz everyone who tries to talk to it is begging to be spared.

Q & A
Q: how did this demon come to being? -muwi
A: (OOC) A few world things to set up this explanation: The Belles are basically a police force/old-west-sheriff type of group, they keep the peace in Belvite, which is a quasi-lawless town on the borderlands between two fae and human territories.
A long time ago it was kinda,,,a rough place to be, mostly populated by criminals/other types who have reason to pick up and move to the middle of nowhere. The Belles were founded as a protective force against the fae originally, to keep people from being taken/go and look for them if they couldn't do that. Over time they had an honorable reputation to them and people would just come to them to settle disputes as a third party & they morphed into general peacekeepers.
Having that kind of power and influence started attracting just, shitty people to the job, and over a bit more time their ranks were overrun with the sort that abuses that power to get what they want, or just be abusive assholes with no repercussions.
It caused a lot of unrest in the community, especially in those groups most targetted by the Belles as a result of prejudice. There was protest & demand for change, which was really only met by more violence on the Belle's part & a refusal to see a problem on the part of the Belles' friends/people who just, were lucky enough to not be constantly targetted by people who were supposed to be protecting them.
One of the leaders of the protest ends up mysteriously dead while jailed.
Coincidentally, Vengeance shows up that very same night and makes a huge bloody mess out of every Belle that had accusations made against them. And probably made a little 'Don't make me do this shit again because I will' speech & peaced out until it inevitably DID Have To Do That Shit Again.
Q: Is it friendly with other demons? -muwi
A: Vengeance....Isn't really friendly with anyone? It's either murdering you or not interacting with you, there's not a whole lot of in-between. Which I suppose makes it friendlier with demons than the average demon tends to be? But then again it is a summoned demon(rare for one of its age), and kinda programmed to just do the one thing, so it doesn't really have the mental faculty to be territorial vs a naturally-birthed demon.
Q: Orca-design aside, what else inspired the creation of Vengeance? -muwi
A: It was initially a version of my boi Maverick in an AU where he carved a summoning array into his own flesh while he was imprisoned & summoned a big angry monster with the remains of his energy upon his death to just fuckin slaughter his jailers/oppressors. I liked the idea enough that I wanted to keep it but didn't want to have it be Maverick's actual story so I just made it its own character! That's why they share the red/blue/black color scheme, and I've associated Mav w/ angry cannibalism since his inception so the decision to just give Vengeance a mouth full of pointy flesh-rending teef and no other facial features came from that.

Q: Has anyone at all seen it and lived? I read it was rare, but anyone specifically? Also, to whom, or to what sort of people is it a hero to?
A: (OOC) Yes!!! Hyaki and Soleil have both seen it and lived(although not by Vengeance's choice, it was on its way to eat soleil & Hyaki kicked its ass so it ran off,,,). Kenny is also a notable witness, although her viewing wasn't as dramatic, she just saw it while she was taking out the trash,,, Buddy maybe hasn't specifically SEEN it but it'd be outrageous to say he's never felt it around with his aura sensory in a town as small as Belvite. Definitely more people claim to see it, but whether it's actually been seen or they were just imagining things out of fear while walking home in the dark is debatable.
Generally it's honored by the town/an object of reverence(albeit a scary one) more than a hero,, But specifically Maverick is a fan just cuz he hates cops.
