A very popular second year student. He's extremely stoic and cold on the outside but if you peel back the layers of his personality...you'll find the same thing and begin to cry.
A major skeptic on the paranormal and generally not a nice person. He likes to be in control of everything Extremely self-centered and vulgar in private. Struggles with his opposing personalities, especially when he's irritated, and values his reputation too much.
A very average girl in Yuta's class. She's pretty mediocre at everything and is often told so by everyone. She desperately wants to fit into the popular kids but she just doesn't have the right touch.
Rina is a compulsive liar and pretty spoiled. Despite her parents, who are genuinely kind people, she grew up sheltered and spoiled rotten (unintentionally). Because of her parents not disciplining her correctly, she tends to miss certain social cues and always wants her way. Despite this, she tries to be a nice person and just wants friends.
The science (kagaku) teacher. He's very superstitious and wary when it comes to people who even talk about curses or spirits. He is mildly clairvoyant but it's usually something he has no control over.
Mr. Kirihara is a kind hearted person and he's extremely passionate about his class. He likes people and is always trying to form meaningful relationships by helping students, teachers and parents alike.
Ryuji and his friends have been bullying Yuta for years now. They like to make fun of him for his stutter along with his all around nervous and quirky behavior. Ryuji, Shunsuke and Ikuro have been best friends since elementary school and have always been mean spirited.
When they realized how powerful it made them feel picking on others, they ramped up their behavior knowing that no one would dare to stop them. They started picking on Yuta because they noticed his stutter and thought it was funny how scared he was. After Ryuji gets put in the hospital, the other two become kind of scarce, not wanting what happened to their friend to happen to them.
A mysterious young man who is often seen skulking around in the woods. No one has ever been able to talk to him but many have seen him up close and note the horrific scars he has on his body. He is rumored to be the ghost of a murdered student named Mujimoto, hence the nickname. No one really knows who he is.
An urban legend in the flesh. There are so many rumors about him but no one has ever had the opportunity to see if they were true; most are too afraid to enter the woods bordering the HS. Truth is, he lives deep in the woods and is just a homeschooled, mute teenager who likes to explore the woods.
Not much is known about this forest dwelling spirit. She is usually seen at night, crying and being followed by large, sporadic blazes.
Most people believe that she is a spirit that can control the yokai Nojukubi, while others believe she's just a young arsonist who spends her time in the woods but no one goes in to find out. Not much is known about encounters with her besides what she looks like and that she's always crying and seemingly trying to escape the flames that tail her. Also many say that her flames are benign.
