"You'll be surprised by what you hear if you listen closely to someone. Just be observant."

Jag has never truly philisophical, though he seems like it to others when he spits out advice. Honestly, whatever he said is more surface level than most think, but many interperet it as being super deep and meaningful to his amusement. The quote above? It's just a fancy way of saying: "Be quiet." He finds it even funnier when those who aren't used to his not-very-deep advice and quips trying to find that deeper meaning that doesn't exist, driving themselves up a wall in the process. Compared to most Jag is pretty normal otherwise, being average at most skills and his pretty flexible outlook on life makes him the mediator in conversations. Jag does take pride in whatever he does however, and tries to live to his full potential with each task. Unfortunately for him, this leads to constant burnout.

Early Life

Jag was sort of lucky when it came to where he was born and where he grew up. He had a loving family and siblings, the bad part was that they lived right on the border between the stray populous and Bloodclan. His family was always hunting for near non-existent prey and there was always someone looking for a fight. This led to Jag's long-time hatred for physical fighting and his strong opinion that if you just try to work things out and be flexible an agreement can be met. This lasted well into his adulthood, his shallow philosophy constantly made fun of, even by his own family and friends.

Not Sure What To Trust

Jag eventually moved away from his childhood home and the local group of cats, closer to the woods. He had heard stories of another clan called Brightclan, it's name eerily similar to Bloodclan but less, you know, violent. Living away from what he was used to had brought ups and downs. He was further away from the border of Bloodclan, but was closer to the border of the forest and the highway that separated them. He was lonely and not good at making fast friends, as pleasant as he was. It just wasn't much better than he thought it would be. Just before he started entertaining the idea of going back to his old home, two cats appeared near his current place of rest. They clearly were just visiting and were just talking to the locals and they seemed alright. Turns out, they were Brightclan warriors, Cloverbee and Mudpelt. They eventually came up to him, seemingly knowing that he was new to this side of town. He expressed his concerns about the whole 'clan' thing, which they quickly debunked any correlations he had between the two. They actually got him interested, Cloverbee especially. He was so different than what he was used to in a cat, very non-hostile and super open, like he was trying hard to empathize with each cat he talked to. Jag really liked the idea of Brightclan, and asked when they were coming again. Seven sunrises from now, apparently.

New Life, New Joy

Jag had been offered to join Brightclan which he accepted quickly. He would join them the next time they visited, giving him some time to say goodbye to his family. Sadly, it wasn't as bittersweet of a departure as he would have wanted. His family had become divided after some argument, both sides treating him with cool indifference when he returned. They didn't welcome him back, not even his mother. She politely wished him well, but she had no interest him keeping up with his whereabouts. When he left the first time, that's when she gave up trying to keep the family together. By the next week, Jag was so apprehensive he could hardly sleep. He just wanted to leave his horrible town, to live somewhere where he knew someone would care for him and about him. Security in the idea that he could actually live happily and comfortably, even in hard times. Cloverbee and Hollowclaw came to pick him up, Jag tagging along to their usual rounds with checking up on long-time friends within the town. By the time they actually got to camp, the nervous butterflies kicked in. Thankfully, he had someone to talk to, a friend in Cloverbee. Jag just loved being in his presence, to talk to him and his unique personality and gentleness he'd never seen in a tom before. They were fast friends and later, much to no one's surprise, mates. Jag had never heard of two toms being mates, but his clanmates seemed to not care in the slightest about gender. The biggest surprise and delight for Jag was when Cloverbee came back from the town with some very young kittens, a she-cat, and some older kittens. Cloverbee had found some abandoned kittens and managed to find a nursing mother to care for them under the promise of food and shelter for her. It was only natural that Jag and Cloverbee took them in as their own, because while Softwing was very compassionate towards Silverkit and Crowkit, she clearly felt more attached to her own three. Jag also suffers from a bent tale courtesy of a broken tail from falling from a tree.

Cloverbee

[ Mate ] Jag couldn't imagine being without Cloverbee, having someone to look forward to being with when he gets home. Plus, who would keep Jag's pelt in check?

Crowkit

[ Son ] Crowkit, despite being completely unrelated to them, is like a mini version of Cloverbee in mannerisms. Jag understands the shyness, and tries to encourage Crowkit to do things outside his comfort zone. When he get's too overwhelmed however, Jag is always there to cuddle for support.

Silverkit

[ Daughter ] Silverkit has been nicknamed 'Queen of The Nursery' by Jag, lovingly teasing at her brimming confidance and tendancy to be bossy. Thankfully though, he has final word over when bedtime is over the Queen.

Leafmoon

[ Sister-in-law ] Jag relates to Leafmoon, she seems to understand how he felt, leaving his known world and family to join the clan. When he first joined, he'd often come to her to quell his regrets.

Oaklight

[ Brother-in-law ] On friendly terms, though like Owlpaw Jag just doesn't really talk to his brother-in-law. They just don't click.

Cherrypaw

[ Niece ] Jag's confidence brings out the inner prankster in Cherrypaw, often becoming a duo of practical jokers to create chaos in the mundane clan life.

Larkpaw

[ Niece ] Larkpaw reminds Jag of his old siblings, itching for competition while lazy at the same time. For this reason, Jag spared his usual quotes of wisdom for some real advice when he saw her starting to tend towards the more reckless, selfish side that wild cats tend to have.

Owlpaw

[ Nephew ] Often the target of Jag's 'meaningful quips' due to his complacency and general obliviousness to sarcasm. Nonetheless, Jag loves his nephew to bits and sees much of Cloverbee and Oaklight in him.
