Early Life

Although technically siblings with Grayflake and Sparrowstrike, Torrentkit felt little relation to them as they were already experienced warriors by the time he was born. Torrentkit's mother, Mothsong, did her best but knew that Torrentkit's absent rogue father, Pine, was no help to both her and her kit's image within the clan. Torrentkit had two other siblings, Newtkit and Beaverkit, but he always got into arguments with them over the clan's reactions to their parentage and the judgement they receive.

Alone, Fighting for Honor

Torrentpaw's apprenticeship started off with the hardest decision. Mothsong was not exactly hiding her relations with a rogue, and was very clear in her intentions. She told her kits, before they graduated, that she would be leaving the clan to go back to Pine. she told them that she would gladly take them with her in a heartbeat, but wanted it to be their decision to leave or stay. She would finish their training herself, and she would give them warrior titles, but they wouldn't be associated with the clan from there on. This is where the disagreement between Torrentkit and his brothers shone glaringly. They chose to stay with their mother, but Torrentkit couldn't leave his clan, without ever having the chance to prove himself. His apprentice ceremony was strained, him being the only one to recieve a mentor. His mother attended the ceremony for his sake, but left soon after leaving Torrentpaw alone. Torrentpaw became the hardest-working apprentice, as if trying to make up for his siblings.

The Worst Deja Vu

Torrentclaw had developed a crush on Fawnspring, though was very private with his relationships until Fawnspring became pregnant, to which he became more public with his affections towards her. She ended up having only one kit with him, Oakkit, before succumbing to some sort of illness and passing away only a moon later. A she-cat, Shadow, who had recently joined the clan took pity on the tom, who was doing his best to care for a single kit. Grateful for the help, Torrentclaw was able to recover from his grief now that that stress was diluted. Shadow, who had always maintained a small crush for Torrentclaw, got up the courage to ask if she could become the official step-mother to Oakkit, and Torrentclaw's mate. He said yes. By the time Oakkit became an apprentice, she was pregnant. Again, cruely, fate struck and she died during labor, with only one of three kits surviving. After that, Torrentclaw was broken and couldn't bear the thought of Cloverkit, his last tie to Shadow, leaving him as well. He cared for Cloverkit by himself, not daring to let him out of his sight for a second. As Cloverkit got older he relaxed a little, but still hovered all the same. When Jag, and then Crowkit and Silverkit came into the picture, Torrentclaw seemed to actually be happy for once while he was playing with his grandchildren. By then, he was titled deputy and didn't have as much time to hold onto grief. While Oaklight wasn't as close to his father as Cloverbee was, Torrentclaw was just as joyful when Cherryskit, Larkkit and Owlkit were born.
