DESCRIPTION
Mary is considered to be the "rational" one of the group, given his blunt mannerisms. Although he is rather reserved, he has a lot more emotions buried underneath the surface. His relationship with immortality is a fairly tumultuous one; while he makes his disdain for drinking blood pretty apparent, Mary is also very fascinated by death. Thus, this is a very common theme in a lot of his music and writing. In his free time, Mary is heavily involved in the arts. Prior to his death, Mary was a professional violinist. He also enjoys romantic poetry and sparring- although it’s a little odd his rapier is coated in silver, given that the metal is harmful to vampires.
Mary is tall with a lithe build. Has dark tan skin with a pink tint and dark orchid hair, usually tied back with a ribbon. Has magenta eyes, but they appear brown at a first glace. Wears black lipstick and nail polish sometimes. Being a vampire, Mary has clawlike nails, fangs, and pointed ears which are sometimes pierced. Likes wearing dated "formal wear"- things with frills, fringe, and sleeves that are really long.

Backstory
Mary's past is shrouded in mystery. Although Mary as born in 1740s Romania, he lived most of his life in Austria pursing a musical career. At some point, Mary was turned, mysteriously disappeared, and reappeared in the States in the mid 20th century. In 1980, he met Vince and the two have been travelling together ever since.

Trivia
- Heavily inspired by vampires from The Vampire Chronicles
- All of the vamps' clothes are from human victims; although Mary's default jacket resembles something he'd wear from his time period, it's actually a modified marching band uniform.
- Mary was Jewish as a human. While he still considers himself Jewish, he's no longer practicing.
- Mary enjoys most music. He's able to appreciate all genres as an art form, but he mainly sticks to older music from his time.
- Mary isn't entirely out of touch with modern culture, but he still tends to fall behind by a few decades as he usually keeps to himself and doesn't meddle with humans outside needing them for food (which, due to Mary being older, he can go without blood for longer than the average vampire).
- Mary's sword is coated in silver- which, given the fact that both vampires are weak to silver and it isn't a very practical metal to make swords with regardless, it's quite... unusual. Despite this, Mary wears gloves whenever handling his sword in order to prevent it from directly touching him.

Relationships
Initially didn't care for Charley, but has really become good friends with him. He sympathizes a lot with Charley's current dilemma. He really likes hearing Charley talk about the modern world; he loves seeing Charley work on electronic stuff.
On a surface level it could be said that Mary views Vince as nothing more than a liability- however his relationship with them is anything but that. The two have been friends for over two decades for a reason. It… is true though that Mary pities Vince a bit, and it’s partially the reason why he’s friends with them. From what little Vince has told Mary about their past, Mary feels as if they deserve better. At the same time, Mary doesn’t tolerate any of Vince’s bullshit, and will gladly call them out on it.
Mary's wary of humans by default, but he really likes Melody and likes that she enjoys listening to tales from his past.
